you missed the game on the island where he was first star and got miller the W after miller left hurt...stopped 27 of 27 s% 1.000,and when he came in quick on a night he thought he had off and stopped 23 of 24 after bailing out markstrom s% .958 he didnt have a great night in buffalo or st louis but tell me who on the team did?? we wouldve had the same result if we had broduer in his prime in net those games.

so true some think canucks have a good team in front of him more like a ahl team. rookie mistakes lol, like hamhuis passing up turnovers all game its amazung lack has any wins at all miller wouldnt have got a point against san jose or arizona

Our only chance in the playoffs is if we happen to get a hot Miller who can steal a series or two.

Even though their numbers have been pretty similar, the way Lack and Miller have gone about it has been very different.

Lack has been pretty average and consistent. He will let in a soft goal or two in most games.

Miller has been terrible some games and remarkable other games. When he is having a stinker, it tends to be a 5 goal game against, his good games are shut outs.

In reality though, it doesn't matter if you lose a game 3-2 or 5-0... it is still a loss. That is why even with fairly similar goals against and save percentages... Miller's winning percentage is much higher. (.651 vs. .529)

In truth, we have little chance of making a real dent in the playoffs with either goalie, just that our best chance is with Miller because he has the ability to steal games on a more consistent basis than Lack. Miller at the top of his game is much better than Lack at the top of his game.

You definitely go with Miller.

You give Eddie a much needed break and go with Miller.

Easy.

1.You send down Markstrom.

2. Eddie Lack rests, becomes our backup again.

3. You go with Miller on a nightly basis since he's our starting goalie.

4.????

5. No goalie controversy.

That wasn't so hard now was it?

two extremes of the same stupidity.

Oh geezus. Are we seriously that hard up for a manufactured goalie controversy here?!

A few weeks ago people were claiming Miller was the reason we're winning games and now people are claiming Lack will be the reason we make the playoffs. You people do realize those skaters aren't just for show, right?

There is no controversy here. Miller is our starter, so when he returns he gets his net back. Lack is a very good backup who may be our starter in the not so distant future but for now he is still the backup. A few good games does not change that.

We should just consider ourselves lucky that we have such a good backup we can actually depend on when he's in net and a TEAM that's playing well together.

Brilliant....agree 120%

now, when do we play Markstrom??

Lacks had a couple of great games and a couple of stinkers as well. I love him but he's our backup. No controversy, it's just what it is.

He goes back to his role as back up giving up his temporary role as starter playing in 1 out of every 5 or so games.

He's shown a lot of growth carrying the load this year as opposed to his abysmal performance last season. In another year or so he may actually be ready for a permanent starter role.

Abysmal performance? He finished last season with a 2.41 GAA, .912 Sv%, and 4 shutouts after being ridden into the ground and playing on a team that was beyond abysmal with a psychotic head coach. And that was as a raw rookie. No, his performance last year was very admirable given the circumstances, not abysmal whatsoever.

You absolutely play Miller as the number one. Lack has been overall good; a couple of great to fantastic, a couple of real stinkers, about what you would expect from a younger goalie with a patchwork defense in front of him. Yeah, Miller has had a couple-few stinkers also, but 6 shutouts is nothing to sneeze at either. So...Miller regains his #1, Lack goes back to #2, and Markstrom goes back to Utica, hopefully to backstop an AHL championship run.

First, you create a controversy by playing Markstrom only because he's the bestest of all the bests,

Then you sit Lack as much as possible to rest him for the playoffs,

When Miller comes back you give him one game. If he loses, he's benched for the remainder of the season,

Markstrom finishes the season as #1 goalie, Lack as backup and Miller as scratch,

Send Miller down for a two week conditioning, and then when the playoffs come:

Sit Markstrom, play Lack (because he ultimately deserves it all of it all and all), scratch Miller,

RESULT:

Three majorly pissed off goaltenders going into the draft.

Did I do it right? That's how it is right?

Miller all the way for the next three years unless something serious happens.

Admirable doesn't win Cups.

And seriously Riviera82. Don't start. Isn't it interesting that before his injury, Luongo was leading the Panthers to the playoffs while Schneider, better numbers, can't bring his team to the big danse?

Queue reasons.

What to do when Miller's back?

Celebrate sending Markstrom back to Utica, because he doesn't belong in the NHL.

He played 7 minutes of one game. Even the best of goalies have off-nights. Let's see what he can do in a full game before coming out with the pitchforks.

Sure I can say that abysmal was a poor choice of words. Under the circumstances it was admirable.

I hope though you're not suggesting what we're seeing this season is not an improvement on what we saw last season when he was thrust into the role of starter.

Lack when made starter last year and having to carry the load was nothing compared to the guy we're seeing this year.

I feel like we suffer from the same problem the Philadelphia Eagles do with QBs; The Backup is always the "best" guy in town.

Lack has had some good games this year, but he's also laid some real eggs.

When he took over for Miller after the injury everyone was ready to crown him the starter.

When he played the next game and laid an egg everyone knew Markstrom was really the answer.

Then Markstrom laid an eggs and it was back to Eddie, but everyone was a bit queasy and wondering when Miller was going to be back.

Now Eddie wins and we're wondering if he's better than Miller.

That reminds me that I'm supposed to get tested for ADHD or whatever this month.
