Gstank29
http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/anthony-mantha/ You guys do know that Mantha is projected to be one of Detroit's top scorers right? Offering Jensen and/or Bieksa with random picks won't cut it let alone including their first. Holland is more willing to trade his 1st round pick anyway which he has a history of trading his higher round picks. We would have to at least offer one of our better prospects back (someone like Shinkaruk) and a pick with it. Even then Detroit would be looking to make some sort of a package deal that would include Mantha and get a big name player in return, which we don't have. So as lovely as it would be for Mantha to come to Vancouver, it's not going to happen. FYI HF is not the best site to be looking at prospect ratings. They are extremely incompetent at times and seem to make up there ratings by pulling a rabbit out of a hat
mpt
Just because Detroit is willing to trade him doesn't mean they want to trade him

Mantha is arguably Detroit's top prospect and it is normal for someone to have struggles in their first pro year, especially when recovering from a broken tibia (and was expected to make the Red Wings roster last October before the injury). I'm just saying if you want someone like Mantha, Detroit is going to want something significant going the other way.
Icer
Detroit wants a right handed defenseman that can QB the powerplay. Vancouver doesn't have any of those.
MovesLikeDatsyuk
Well if Detroit is giving up on him. Doesn't that say something about him? Says more about the Team Detroit. They are loaded with young fwd youth. Need to fill in elsewhere.
R3aL
Well if want to full on rebuild and have a lottery pick: elder for mantha and their 2015 first at a minimum. Our D would be awful without elder though Terrible in fact

coryberg
How is that any different then now? A lottery pick means you finish outside of the playoffs, you are one of the bottom 14 teams. We just finished 8th overall in the league. That's the difference. Any questions on what icing is? Maybe that offsides rule is too hard to understand? Don't be afraid to ask. There is no such thing as a stupid question
Ghostsof1915
Kassian, plus for Mantha?
86Viking
id move edler for mantha and their 1st and 2nd this year. I would retain Hamhuis, and use the picks to acquire a couple good young D and a solid F prospect
