70seven
To Washington: Bonino Vrbata Weber To Vancouver: Laich Bowey 22 OA Washington gets an upgrade at C with a younger, cheaper, and more productive Bonino who could really help to balance out all that skill on the wing and could potentially play in the middle 6 depending on how their more offensive minded centerman are performing. They land that scoring RW that theyre in the market for wholl give them yet another weapon and pick up a dman in Weber whom may be able to soften the loss of Green with his offensive ability. Vancouver takes a significant contract dump in Laich to land their pirze, but a veteran C that can help plug up the bottom 6 C position while their prospect C's develop. They land a significant RHD prospect in Madison Bowey who projects as a physical and well rounded top pair dman, and another 1st round pick which would give them back to back selections in the 1st round. The move significantly cripples Vancouvers scoring prowess for next season, but creates some space for them to add a couple more NHL ready prospects to the roster (Gaunce, Grenier, Virtanen, Cassels). It would likely also improve their chances of landing a top 2016 draft pick as they turn over their franchise. Not sure if the Canucks are ready to make a move like this, and also doubt the Caps would move Bowey, but taking a cap dump like that and addressing a couple significant needs in their win now lineup may entice the notion. Caps projected roster: Ovi - Backstrom - Brouwer Johansson - Kuznetsov - Vrbata Burakovski - Bonino - Wilson ? - Latta - Chimera Orpik - Carlsson Alzner - Niskanen Orlov - Weber Nux depth chart before other offseason moves: Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Baertschi - Horvat - Kassian Higgins - Vey - Hansen Dorsett - Laich - Virtanen Kenins - Gaunce - Grenier Edler - Tanev Hamhuis - Bowey (alnost made Caps last season. Hes ready imo.) Sbisa - Bieksa Stanton Clendenning Corrado Draft Zboril and Boeser
Kaner
I like it. I think that the value is there, but we'd have to add a mid round pick to sweeten it a little for Washington.
Warhippy
I will tell you right now. Washington gives Bowey up about the same time they give up Ovi or Backstrom. They're most likely letting Green walk as Bowey is the future of that blue line like we wish we had.
Skirbs11
Heres a question if Weber, Vrbata and Bonino were on washington would you accept them in a trade for Horvat and #23?? No, and Washington holds Bowey to a higher Value then Horvat, franchise Dman are worth more than forwards.
elvis15
Doesn't Washington already have a bunch of centers? Backstrom, Johansson and Kuznetsov for starters?
monkey2
Fail for Puljujärvi
SaintPatrick33
Washington was dumb enough to trade Forsberg for Erat, but McPhee is gone now so I doubt they would give up bowey after being burned badly in the forseberg deal lol.
Pears
Bowey should be considered untouchable by Washington. We should be able to draft a defenceman like him with the 23rd overall.
Ryan Strome
Washington would never do this.
apollo
Value wise I think you've made a good proposal. That being said this is not the direction I'd want the team to go. It would work better for the caps imo. Makes them that much of a bigger cup threat. I'd rather us remain a cup threat than give away such valuable pieces
SaintPatrick33
The only valuable piece we are giving up is Vrbata, Bonino and Weber type skills can be found on the waiver wire.
goblix
if Vrbata = 22nd overall pick (more likely at the trade deadline) then is Bonino + Weber + taking Laich contract worth Bowey ? probably not...
DownUndaCanuck
22nd overall = Vbrata Bowey = at least a first rounder in value. I think we'd have to throw them something like Jensen and a current defenceman to snag Bowey. Vbrata + Jensen + Sbisa for Bowey + 22nd overall
