Has anyone heard whether PM JT has written off $3.5 billion loan to GMC? This dates back to the 2008 crisis and the due date was 2018. Hope this isn't true as GM has been paying dividends for some time.

Harper and the conservatives sold that in 2014/2015 at a major loss, it helped cook the books to appear balanced leading in to the 2015 election

But according to calculations carried out by the Globe and Mail, this means taxpayers will take a $3.5-billion loss on Ottawa and Ontario’s investment in the automaker, which is a major employer in southern Ontario.

Including this week’s share sale, and the Ontario government’s $1.1-billion sale of GM shares in February, the two governments have recouped only $10.2 billion of the $13.7 billion they invested, the Globe calculated.

Many market analysts think the government would have been better off holding on to the shares a while longer. According to a report at the Financial Post, 14 of 24 analysts who follow GM say the time is right to buy, while only two are advising investors to sell.

“If you look at GM, it’s grossly undervalued relative to other global automakers,” John Stephenson, CEO of Stephenson & Co. Capital Management, told the Post.

Selling moderna was a big mistake, 6k mistake to be exact.

Moderna just announced successful human trials in coronavirus solution.  Or seemingly have posted success.

Super small sample size.  If true, they're about to push past $95 a share soon

I missed that train, sold all my shares while back, if I kept them I would be up around $6000.

I was lucky enough to jump in when the feds awarded them something like 450 million to ramp up research and production. I figured fed wouldn’t pump that much in if they didn’t have confidence in something.  I’m waiting till phase three of their trials to sell... I don’t know if their mRNA solution is easy to mass produce or if they will make it through all the hoops to get fda  approval.  I’ll take my profit and run!

J&J might be a good bet too ... they have mass production capabilities for a vaccine with sites around the world with their various partnerships and assets.  But I doubt they will have the casino style upside that moderna had a couple months ago.

Any thoughts on Air Canada? I’m waiting for it to hit sub 12.00.  I figure if the Libs back them at the federal level no reason it won’t hit 20 again just on speculation.. but will that happen..

I bought FVI because I wanted some silver in the port. Working out very nicely at +46% in less than a month. Allocation to gold and silver now over 20% in the port. Will likely add up to a 30% allocation. I have very few buy triggers until stocks retreat to the March lows.

J&J is great stock that is very steady, once talcum powder and opioid litigations settle it will go up even more.

Price is little too high right now but definitely worth adding to a long term portfolio.
