WiDeN
Right on. Add Kenins in to that group, and Utica will be pretty stacked with call ups. Jensen better pick it up, or he's gonna get left behind. He's got some serious competition coming up the ranks.
avelanch
I love it that Gaunce and Fox have this year to develop chemistry. That will make it much more comfortable for them once they move on to Utica. Is Gaunce eligible for the AHL next year? Obviously Fox is. Hopefully Utica can make it through a couple of playoff rounds so that our juniors get a chance to move up and play at the end of the season. Horvat, Gaunce, Fox, and Cassels would all have a chance to play I'd assume. at this point i'd be hoping that utica makes the playoffs... they are dead last in the AHL, and 15 points out of a playoff spot... but they have games in hand on everyone so it's not a completely accurate standing, though even if they win all the games in hand they wouldn't be in the playoffs... elvis15
With the tough losses in some of the recent games, I think they're all but out at this point. It'd take a pretty incredible run to get back into a playoff spot. EDIT: almost forgot this was the Gaunce thread, and it sure looks like he'll go far in the playoffs with Erie. Playing with a stacked team will be good for both Gaunce and Fox. Confidence is a wonderful thing to bring, and a taste of success early can make a huge difference for their early pro careers. Question: Does the AHL draft players, or are they just signed? Does Utica being last have any silver lining?
elvis15
No draft in the AHL so I don't think there's any advantage to being last.

elvis15
He's actually been very solid in moving to play with Erie. That's allowed them to move McDavid to the second line from what I understand, with Fox and Brown being Gaunce's majority linemates.

RustyShackleford
1-0 Erie up on Oshawa. The goal was a PPG for BG. It was a wide open tip in right infront of the net off a pass from burkawsky (sp?)
DeNiro
A goal and an assist for Gaunce now. One assist for Cassels in a 2-1 otters lead. Looks like our prospects are coming through. Just need Fox to snipe a couple.

-Vintage Canuck-
@TysonGiuriato #Canucks prospect Brendan Gaunce had a goal and two assists for Erie tonight. Now has 52 points (22-30-52) in 44 games. @TysonGiuriato Since joining Erie, Gaunce has 26 points (12-14-26) and is plus-20 in 22 games.

dangler696969
3 point night for Gaunce. Dangler where you at? I'm here. Good for him. Its great that he's playing at a 1+ point per game pace but at the same time we will see how he does at the pro level. His speed still bothers me Edited January 27, 2014 by dangler696969
R3aL
I think next year this line: Fox-Gaunce-Jensen Will spend the majority of the season in Utica developing chemistry and destroying the AHL together as their second line, or 1b line.
