Made playoffs for 2nd year in a row. 7th instead of 2nd though but none the less we are in. We were hot a couple weeks ago but have seemed to just be playing average. Hope to get some mojo back and get back in to it. Leafs are playing some good hockey so we had better get to it quick and take the gsme to them hard. De rail there streak and move to round to. With that said good luck @Spoderman , May the best team win

Minnesota Wild Regular Season Awards:

99PTS - 8th in the Western Conference

Team MVP: Zach Parise: 82 Games - 32G 39A 71PTS -/-18

Zach put together another stellar performance for our team and has aged like fine wine. We look forward to watching our captain continue to perform at a high level while he builds his HOF resume.

Top Goalscorer: Tomas Tatar: 82 Games - 34G 30A 64PTS +/-24

Tomas has emerged as the top goal scoring threat of the Wild as he has led the club in that department for 2 seasons in a row now. Going forward, Tomas will continue to have a top role for the club as he has proven that he can score with the best of them.

Top Defenseman: Ryan Suter: 82 Games - 5G 44A 49PTS +/-20

We are blessed to have a player of Ryan's caliber on our blueline. Ryan's performances these past 3 seasons have been nothing short of excellent and he has been pivotal in the emergence and development of Matt Dumba who has stepped up and excelled in the #2 role.

Top Breakout Performer: Kasperi Kapanen: 82 Games - 27G 30A 57PTS +/-20

At the end of last season, we said we were impressed with Kasperi's rookie season and that we expected a bigger role for him next season. Sure enough, he proved that he was more than capable of handling an expanded role that saw him gain Top 6 time by year's end. The sky is the limit for this promising 22 year old.

Top Rookie Performance: Karill Kaprizov - 82 Games - 22G 16A 38PTS +/-11

Though he's no Boeser, Kaprizov quietly had a successful rookie campaign himself. Though he only averaged 11 minutes a game with no PP time, the other KK was able to still score 20 goals this year and even outscored Kapanen's rookie season. If Kapanen's breakout season is any indication of what is to come from Kaprizov, we are excited for next year to say the least.

We are happy to successfully reach the playoffs for the 3rd season in a row. We have a very tough matchup coming up though with the Nashville Predators, a team that has given us problems in the past. Not to mention we may consider making some changes if another 1st round exit comes to fruition. Though of course, anything can happen in the playoffs and with the addition of veteran Patrice Bergeron, we are looking forward to a good tilt with TL and the Preds.

4samLT6.png Ottawa Senators Team Awards 2018 - 19 4samLT6.png

Daniel Alfredsson Award (Team MVP) - Kyle Turris

The brightest spot in a rather disappointing season. After signing a massive extension in the offseason, Turris did not slow down. He posted a career high 81 points while anchoring the top line with Mike Hoffman and Bobby Ryan. He also contributed valuable minutes on the PK, and adapted to the new role flawlessly as evidenced by his increased shot block and hit totals. Turris also provided valuable leadership as an alternate captain.

Runner Up: Mike Hoffman

Wade Redden Award (Best Defenceman) - Dion Phaneuf

Phaneuf continued his renaissance in Ottawa, even after his partner Erik Karlsson was dealt to Colorado. A force on both sides of the puck, Dion posted impressive totals of 46 points, 103 shot blocks, and 189 hits. Alongside his on-ice contributions, Phaneuf provided a veteran presence and earned the role of club captain after the Karlsson trade. Phaneuf is expected to maintain his role on the top pairing with new acquisition Tyson Barrie next year.

Runner Up: Torey Krug

Dany Heatley Award (Biggest All-Star/GM's Choice) - Jimmy Vesey

A reclamation project done right, Vesey finally broke through after 2 years of futility in New York. Jimmy posted 40 points while splitting time between the 2nd and 3rd lines. He formed deadly chemistry with Logan Brown, providing what will be a staple duo in the top 6 for years to come.

Runner Up: Colin White

Alexei Yashin Award (Best U23 Performance) - Logan Brown

The gigantic centre had no trouble adapting to the NHL, putting up 50 points in his first season. Starting on the third line, he beat out a long list of contenders to solidify himself as the team's second line centre behind Turris by season's end. Logan showed himself to be a big game player as well, with a dominating final quarter that nearly earned the Sens a playoff spot. The sky is the limit for Brown, and his partnership with Vesey and Coyle should only get better next year.

Runner Up: Thomas Chabot

Looking forward to the lottery and draft. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs except for Toronto.

Montreal Canadiens Awards:

Most Valuable Player: Max Pacioretty (46G, 19A, 65P)

With 46 goals, 22 more than the team's next best in Alex Galchenyuk's 24, 'Patches' takes this award home in strides. Without Pacioretty's goal scoring efforts, there's no telling how the Canadiens would have done without him on the team.

Top Rookie: Nikita Scherbak (15G, 9A, 24P)

In his final season before becoming an RFA, Nikita Scherbak finally got a chance to show his efforts at the NHL level. In 65 games, Scherbak put up 24 points on the 3rd line for the Canadiens, while getting some time up on the 2nd line as well. His regular linemates were Philip Danault and Nikolai Kulemin, so he had a good chance to put up some points. Nikita had a good showing in Montreal, and the Canadiens look for him to get better next season.

Top Defenseman: Shea Weber (8G, 37A, 45P)

While having the same amount of points as fellow defenseman Kirill Koltsov, Shea Weber takes home with award with 1 more goal, and a ton more hits and blocked shots. Weber had 196 hits and 233 shot blocks, while averaging 23.54 minutes per game, which was the most on the team. Shea Weber had taken Montreal in strides since coming here, and he put up a great performance for the team.

Best Defensive Forward: Tomas Plekanec (16G, 23A, 39P)

Plekanec easily takes this award for the Canadiens. He put up 114 hits and 105 shot blocks, although averaged 45% on the faceoff dot. It's hard to argue his defensive ability with Montreal, when he put up those numbers while staying at a +1 +/- at the same time. Nikolai Kulemin could have had a chance at this award with 236 hits and 120 blocked shots, but he was a -13.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Top player: Brandon Saad

On a team full of negatives, Brandon Saad was one of the few players that was a positive player. Putting up a team high 68 points, he was single handedly the catalyst for the BJs while being defensively responsible. Saad is turning into a complete player and one of the elite players in the NHL.

Biggest surprise: Nick Bonino

Brought in to be a 3rd line center, Bones rose to the task and more by putting up 52 points on the 3rd line. He was able to score at will despite duds of linemates. He has helped with the depth in Columbus which looks to boast one of the deepest center cores in the league.

Best defensemen: David Savard

Often looked over because of defensive superstars Ryan Murray and Seth Jones on the team, David Savard had an effective campagain posting up 27 points and being the only defensemen that was not a negative player on the team. Savard had the most hits on the team as a defensemen with 155 and had 131 blocked shots, only behind Murray and Jones. Savard is a PK specialist and an anchor on the 2nd line defensive pairing.

Biggest Dud: Paul Martin

Perhaps the biggest reason why the team sucked. Tied for a team worse -18, Paul Martin carried a ridiculously high cap hit while being slow and immobile. In the 3 seasons in Columbus, Paul Martin has never been a positive player. He doesn't block shots, hits, or scores. What exactly does he do? Thank goodness his contract expires this year.

St. Louis Blues Season Recap

Disappointing.

MVP -- Vladimir Tarasenko. Finished with 37 goals and +4. Easily our MVP.

D of the year -- Alex Petrangelo. 40 points and a team leading 175 blocked shots.

Rookie of the year -- Brendan Perlini/Kris Strickrott. A big bright spot in a terrible season was the play of these two rookies. Perlini with 24 goals/51 points and Strickrott with 23 goals/48 points. We look for big things from them next year.

Bust of the year -- Jared McCann. He could never find a home and finished as the lowest scoring forward despite significant time in the top 6 throughout the year.

Pre FA/pre-resigning any RFA's/pre-really looking at anything but here it is anyway roster:

Strickrott - Stastny - Tarsenko

Perlini - Fabbri - Rattie (RFA to sign)

N. Ritchie - Magin (RFA to sign)- D. Perron

xxx - xxx - xxx

Pietrangelo - Parayko (RFA to sign)

Johnson - Shattenkirk

Dunn (RFA to sign)- xxx

Crawford

xxx

Will have to think on McCann, B. Ritchie, Jaskin, Edmundson. Don't know that anyone in the AHL is ready to step up...

New York Rangers Team Awards:

Most Points: Chris Kreider, 61

Most Goals: Mika Zibanejad, 32

Rod Gilbert Award( Team MVP ) Chris Kreider,

Chris notched 30 goals for the third straight season for us this year. he is a rare breed in the NHL today amassing 283 hits and 268 shots to go with his 30 goals and 61 points. Chris was also very reliable in his own zone for us putting up 97 shotblocks, a +12 rating and only racking up 32 penalty minutes while playing an elite powerforward game.

Breakout Player of the Year: Pavel Buchnevich

In Pavel's second NHL season the 23 year old put up an impressive 57 points including 38 assists, Pavel found instant chemistry playing alongside Mika and recent signing Brett Seney on the revamped second line, I expect that trio to continue putting up solid numbers next season. along with putting up good offensive numbers Pavel also put up a respectable +10 along with 110 hits and 148 shots.

Rookie of the Year: Brett Seney

In 22 year old Brett Seney's first NHL season he put up a very respectable 45 points including 22 goals in mainly second line deployment with limited PP time. 60 points is a very realistic possibility for Brett next year playing alongside guys like Buchnevich and Zibanejad with more PP time.

Pre Draft Roster

Really looking for a legitimate top line center, Stepan and Zibanejad do not cut it, prospects are not ready for top line roles, D Core also needs a serious revamping, need a bonafide top pairing D for McDonagh

Kreider A - XXX - Stepan

Buchnevich - Zibanejad - Seney

Haula - Hayes - Miller

Tambellini - Chartier - XXX

McDonagh C - XXX

XXX - Weber

Staal A - Moore

Sorokin
