I just hope they ditch the horribly timid agency font and switch back to proper block lettering fonts for the numbers. I absolutely detest any jersey that has the agency font. prix57 Posted April 13, 2017 Share Posted April 13, 2017 Since the blue & green colour scheme went mainstream in 2007 I gave it time and it never grew on me. Add the cheap looking agency font on top of that with the plain white or green lettering and it honestly looks like one of the weakest least intimidating jerseys we ever worn. I would LOVE to see us go back to the 94 jersey's (both black and white) as an alternate jersey, as I do not believe we will ever be going back to those full time, even though they have always been my favorite jersey.... lots of memories. Design gurus decided exactly what you mentioned about black being intimidating and by the later nineties and early 2000s half the league went black including us in our early Orca Entertainment version. It got so bad that it was hard to tell who was home and who was away without squinting sometimes. Teams that sort of kept their colours like Dallas went so dark on the spectrum of green it might as well have been black. Blue and Green works well for the Canucks and makes sense given that the Orca hasn't been curbed ( and after a few begrudging decades I hate to admit even though it had roots in capatalism and had zero history or reason to be there in the first place I would rather stick with it or the stick than start something new again) a whale lives in the sea so Blue and Green work. I don't mean to bash your opinion, but I think you may be in the minority as we are one of (if not the only?) teams that has a 3rd jersey that is identical to their home (minus the crests). That looks like trash. That logo doesn't belong on a jersey. I would get over it if they used of for the shoulder patches. But that looks hideous as a front crest. So many people in this thread are bemoaning the fact that the jersey they grew up following has been taken away from them and replaced. Isn't this the whole reason we should resist change now, so that the kids who have started following this team recently don't have to complain one day in the future of the time when the jersey they loved was taken away from them. I can agree with that, if they could update it without taking away the originality... I still rock my Bure and Linden skate jerseys for every game.
