BM24 Posted October 27, 2017 Share Posted October 27, 2017 Connor Brickley and Derek Grant making early contributions to the team. Brickley with 2 assists and +2 in his Flames debut. He has been producing at a very nice rate with limited minutes. We hope to see him snag a larger role as we get deeper into the season. We were shocked Connor was still unsigned and pushed to get a deal done before others made a pitch, as we will have Connor under team control for at least another season because of RFA status. Grant has seemingly made his case to stick in the NHL for the regular season with his play thus far. Added an assist tonight in his Flames debut. He has been a very gritt depth player and has showed off he can produce. Now where he can keep it up is another question but so far he's looked great. These two have already helped add some depth to this team that will get some points for us. Not only did they give us much needed depth, we also got them for free - we are very keen on not tossing away draft picks unless necessary so we felt this was good asset management. Thanks to @Monty for quick and reasonable negoations once again, as we really pushed to get these two signed as soon as possible to help our depleted depth.
