For me, the period of time between February and August 2016, where we had, what seems like, a game every week, was really fun and nostalgic. I agree with your assessment, but I will optimistically point out that rumours of CDC Mafia's death have been greatly exaggerated before. It's gone through many rebirths with many new players over the years. Alternate theory: it will depend on the Canucks' performance. Right now the team sucks, and so there's less chance of new blood coming to this forum. Should the young guns get fans excited again in the coming years, more posters will join CDC and there'll be a fresh pool to fish in for Mafia recruits. Link to comment

Sometimes, I forget this is a Canucks forum because I don't think I've even visited Canucks Talk in years. 2007-2013 had a huge boom of users join so I think your theory has legs to it. I browsed but had no intention of participating in the less-than-rational discussions I saw. But I saw this game starting up, and had played a bit on another forum, and so decided to get in on the ground floor. (Well, game 6 or so, I think.) I've never strayed away from this subforum ever since, minus one time because there was discussion on someone I knew who had been drafted by the Giants. Link to comment
