Although they are very different players Poo & Guddy they have some of the same basic problems: 1. They both absolutely panic when they are pressured by the forecheckers - usually resulting in a giveaway, a brutal pass to a teammate or an icing 2. They both make horrible reads and D-zone coverage decisions

Kanukfanatic
I get up at 4am weekday mornings. So I went to bed as soon as Carolina went up 3-2. I was totally fried. After reading these comments I thank the gods I went to bed lol.

Later on I seen Pouliot and Gudbranson paired together and I had to look away. Travis Green shame on you for that pairing!

shiznak
This what happens when you don’t have any support from your forwards in your own end, forcing the defensemen to make ill-advised outlet passes.
oldnews
So much prattle about particular defensemen in this game when none of them had a good game. The entire lot had forgettable moments/plays that easily could have wound up on the highlight reel for the wrong reasons. Kudos to Pouliot for taking all the heat lol. Both Edler and Hutton had a couple notable giveaways that ended in saves.... But if we're looking at the ice tilted against the Canucks..... Ben Hutton 83.3% ozone starts (15 ozone /3 dzone starts). 38.3% corsi - very weak possession numbers in that context. The EP, BB, Baer line was comparably sheltered and got counterpunched. The worst possession numbers on the blueline by a wide margin. Pouliot 40.0/38.3 Stecher 27.7/27.6 Gud 36.4/39.1 Tanev 20.0/45.8 Edler 39.3/50.
oldnews
I guess it's a double-minor in the NHL now when a player gets angry after being cheapshotted. Two of the softest, most ludicrous calls I've seen - to Roussel and Gud - in that game. Looks like a new generation of official incompetence..... oldnews
Slavin sure is impressive - I thought he and DeHaan were really solid in that game. And the Wild have to be wondering what they've done...
