Not only the value is uneven...OTT are rebuilding themselves and they would want the picks. As Pears already noted, the second trades are terrible for VAN! We have no idea what a full season of Hughes will do for the D, maybe Juolevi makes it midway through the season. Horvat will lead the team as captain, Pettersson has looked great at the Worlds. Benning needs to make some trades, and the #10 pick will be a player we can get excited about. Who knows, the Canucks might just have a really good year. Plus, Ottawa needs the volume of picks to make up for the 4th overall that Colorado gets this year. On top of which, none of this addresses the loss of Hughes to our club, who has chance to actually be the defenseman that we've so desperately needed for...well, how old is the franchise? Two very good scoring lines and 3 very good defencemen.are needed otherwise it is another situation where there is the Sedin line and constant looking for secondary scoring, even when they were at the top of the league and Kesler scored 40, they were still in need of secondary scoring. 3 for 6 at forward and 1 for 3 on defence.
