HockeyHarry
I don’t see any evidence Gaunce isn’t still on the team. He was always invisible. it’s great hockey is starting. Hope too see Brock soon. go Canucks Go

He seemed alright yesterday but he seems slower today. Maybe its just my imagination. His skating doens't look a ton better tho. What have you seen from your POV today and Gadjovich? I was behind the net as you know haha Yah, agreed. I don't see Gadj making the big show without huge improvements in his skating. Focht has potential, now that I have seen him, I will certainly be a little more aware of what he does this season.

It'll be tough for him to get top offensive minutes, but also at this point I think he's developing to be more of a really useful (with his physical gifts) middle 6/top 9 type. His secondary offense could go a long way. He would've hit 20 last year if healthy. I don't think 25 goals and maybe 40-45 points is out of the realm of possibility. I think there's a chance he gets some top 6 mins because they have more interchangeable players this year. Last season he was largely pigeonholed in a defensive role because he was the most equipped top 6ish winger to do so. With Miller and Ferland in the mix and able to play that role too, I think we'll see all three move around the lineup. If so, Jake might actually get some chance at offense. 2
Popular Post 86Viking
How did Demko look, let in the 5 goals, but did he make some nice saves? Hoping he has a solid year and will be our #1 going forward and not have to pay Marky big bucks long term for a goalie nearing 30. My take on Jake is this: He is never going to be thin, he is built like Ovechkin. Who also happens to be a pure sniper, who hits and skates well...to this day in his 30s with the frame he has. So Jake may get more gassed then other guys and it is to be expected at the beginning of camp. The key is how quickly can he up his cardio and be than hard nosed forechecker who finishes his checks by using his speed to create mayhem...that can also snipe goals if he can pinpoint his shot more and pick those corners. I hope Jake can put it all together, but I can see why fans would be uneasy about his start. Trade him now for JP is what those people will be wanting. Jake knows our coach, he knows what to expect so he has to put that effort in and do what the coach wants. If he does he hopefully will get rewarded...if he doesn't the leash is only going to be so long, eventually all teams cut ties with players who dont seem to "get it" in the teams eyes of course. Goldy is in the same position but will be let go or moved on before Jake

He has the size, looks good when he was in the OHL, but now he is against men and slower foot speed is not a good thing in today's NHL. I hope he can carve out a role as an NHL player one day but it will be a process by the sounds of it.
Knucklehd
Looks like I can't.post much video anymore, but the dump in drills are not near as fiesty as the first group. They were banging and crashing this morning
nergish
You guys are crushing it today with the recaps! Nice to see genuine excitement and optimism for this season. Good work CDC. (Jordie Benn looks much quicker than I anticipated, he's gonna be a rock back there)

Googlie
Haven't read much about Eriksson, Baertschi and Horvat. Are they noticeable or just savvy vets doing just enough to not get Green on their case?
HockeyHarry
Has anyone posted the D pairings. Is it a mix.? Or maybe solid D pairings. Example is Edler with Myers. Is Quinn with Tanev?

Once the season starts and the intensity picks up we’ll see the real Horvat.

Ericksson continues to be snakebitten. Baertschi hasn't stood out too much. Horvat has given 100%, nothing flashy, but his usual solid self.
