Popular Post Nail
2034 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 3 Jack Meloche (LW/RW) A two-way forward with pro size, Meloche has 13 goals and 14 assists in 33 games this season for the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL. Meloche is currently playing with Team Canada at the World Juniors, where he is playing a bottom 6 and penalty killing role. Meloche is still a work in progress offensively, however his defensive game will get him a job and opportunity in the NHL sooner rather than later. Daniel Schneider (RW) Another two-way forward, Schneider is very similar to Meloche in some ways however Schneider is playing against weaker competition while playing for the Kansas City Mavs organization. Schneider is hoping to play college hockey next season, however it is likely he ends up in the AHL instead. Like Meloche, Schneider will get NHL opportunities because of his defensive awareness, but it is the offense that will need to improve. Joan Meunier (C) Another two-way forward in this set of tidbits, Meunier is the first center within this set of players and arguably the most polished defensively. Despite this, Meunier is also probably the weakest offensively out of the three so far. In 33 games for the Victoriaville Tigres in the QMJHL, Meunier has only 4 goals and 14 assists. Low production for a guy being played 1st line even strength, PP and PK... Mike Foskey (RW/C) Guess what? Another two-way forward! Foskey could be the most well rounded out of all the two-way forwards listed so far, however he doesn't have the defensive game that stands out like the others. In 27 games this season for the Las Vegas Aces, Foskey has 14 goals and 17 assists. Foskey may have the most potential to be an offensive producer at the next level, but it comes with a bit weaker defense. Adrien Nichols (RD/LD) Nichols is NOT a two-way forward, in fact he is an offensive defenceman for the Erie Otters in the OHL. In 33 games this season, Nichols has an impressive 5 goals and 27 assists. Nichols is very good offensively, but not very good defensively. He's a higher risk, higher reward type defenceman and is currently with Canada at the World Juniors, where he is seeing very limited icetime. 9

Popular Post Nail
2034 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 4 Daniel Rahmonen (C/LW/RW) A big Finnish two-way forward who has already crossed the pond and is playing for the Saint John Seadogs in the QMJHL, Rahmonen has 17 goals and 21 assists in 44 games this season. Rahmonen may not be the most polished player right now, however he projects to be a player that has no flaws at all in his game. Whether he can play at a "good" or an "elite" level remains to be seen.. Dallas Adams (RW) One of the top risers in the draft rankings this year, Adams has been lightning up the NCAA ranks this season while playing for Brown University. In 26 games, Adams has 15 goals and 15 assists. The goal scoring forward has one of the best shots in this years draft class, and his offensive abilities could make him a very very high pick in the upcoming draft. Mack Wong (RD) An offensive defenceman playing for the Sudbury Wolves, Wong has 5 goals and 20 assists in 48 games this season. Wong has a very good shot from the point, and that is how he creates most of his offense. His defensive game is weak, but has lots of room for improvement still. Wong's passing gets sometimes underrated due to his heavy shot, but Wong has the potential to be a big point producing defenceman at the NHL level. Ed Murnan-Mechor (LD/RD) A throw it back two-way style defender, Murnan-Mechor may be one of the purest defensive defenceman our league has seen over the past couple years. Playing for Union College, Murnan-Mechor has 2 goals and 7 assists in 26 games, however he will not be known for his offense at higher levels. Murnan-Mechor will be a guy that anchors teams penalty kills for years to come. Tom Lundberg (RD) After going over point per game in the Swedish J20 league, Lundberg has been rewarded with a callup to the SHL and has appeared in 7 games for Lulea this season. In those 7 games, Lundberg has 2 assists. The defenceman sometimes lacks a defensive side of the game, and may need some time to continue developing his offensive abilities. 5
