I once was a decent recreational runner. Dunfee "walked" a 10km race in around 38 minutes. My best 10k time was a low 37 minutes. How fast can you run or walk? Give it a go and see if you think this a stupid event.

I once was a decent sprinter but long distance was not for me, used to do the 100m, and 4x100m relay, and I did the shot put and discus was decent at them all. Instead of pursuing any of these though I went the Baseball route, but it ended in college.

But regarding giving it a go or anything yeah no it's

Congrats to Evan Dunfee....I see him training, often, on the dyke trails here.

SAPPORO, JAPAN -- Evan Dunfee dug into his reserves in relentless heat and humidity to become likely the only Canadian who will ever win an Olympic medal in the men's 50-kilometre race walk.

The 30-year-old from Richmond, B.C., snared a bronze medal Friday in Sapporo with a gutsy closing surge.
