Canes really like him go cause of 3

million AAV :picard:

He was asking 3.5M in Carolina per Seravalli.  Per LeBrun they tried to sign him but couldn't get a deal done and they didn't want to go through arbitration.  (Tweets in the other thread).

Does Yzerman have a blackbook on every GM in the league or something?  The trade is still puzzling.

Even if Carolina likes Mrazek (who's UFA) and sees their window as being the next 3-4 years, it's hard to understand why Nedeljkovic would not fit into those plans?  How much is Mrazek asking for that they can't fit Nedeljkovic at $3M?

No, he's just really good at his job. Sample size is there. The rebuild strategy he's been using in Detroit looks brilliant; of course nothing has panned out yet but it's hard not to give him the benefit of the doubt.

When you look at the moves he makes vs. some other GM's in the league, it's quite clear that he knows what he's doing - the moves look good at face value and make sense in the grand scheme of things and you don't have to do mental gymnastics to validate or explain anything.

Ned asks for 3.5 per and immediately signs in Det for 3.0aav after the trade.  As I said in the other trade thread this seems like it was about something other than money arbitration notwithstanding.

Been a very strange year for Ned. Guy gets placed on waivers, doesn't get claimed, then plays well enough to be a rookie of year finalist and then gets traded as a reward? Weird.

Yzerman scores again.

I watched Yzerman and Sakic their entire careers. Watched them be on very bad teams to multiple championship winners.

Now they're both great GMs. What a great ride following these two over the decades.
