The issue is that he isn't a passable dman and even Larry Robinson in his prime would struggle to babysit him. He really needed a coach earlier in his career who had the guts to bench him until he learned how to play D; now it's too late. You can't win with a guy who is that bad in his own zone. Basically, Barrie has played an important role for every team he’s been with. Whether he’s a defensively sound Dman or not doesn’t matter. Offense is also driven from the back end, and especially on the PP. His pedigree shows he’s NHL level and perhaps even top 4 on most clubs. Sorry @King Heffy but he’s not playing on PTOs.
