There have been rumblings the last couple of days that Joel Quenneville might be working on a comeback. Imagine that.

Keep that man as far from this team as possible.

More concerned about a trophy, than an abused human being that was on his team.

He becomes the Canuck coach and I'm gone.

That won't mean anything to the team; but it will to me.

Luke Schenn is the best dollar value in the entire NHL hands down. I would easily say he’s worth 4 times his contract . Canucks need another guy like him.

The way he is playing is worth a 1st rounder at the deadline. Guy leads the league in hits, team player, total leadership, and is playing solid defensively with some offense to boot.

Problem is, GMs will have a hard time paying that kind of price as he was signed so cheap on the open market...

Optics of the NHL...

Similar to how 1st rounders get a million chances to make the team compared to an undrafted prospect.

It's clear we need more Assistant GMs from lower representation groups to improve.  It's not team defense or just the AHL defensive core, we are clearly lacking a few more hires based on outward appearance.  That should remain the front office focus for the rest of the season.

Are the new hires in charge of trading people?

There really wasn't. We needed his cap space and assets for trading him to start correcting our myriad other roster issues. And especially with the additions of the Russians etc, had the F depth, not to "replace" him but to cover some of his loss.

Some of us tried explaining it a few thousand times... And the proof seems to be in the pudding.

Well, I like that we can agree on one thing.

One way or another, JR has done a crap job.

Burroughs 32 hits in 10 g

                   20 blocks in 10 g

Stillman.   16 hits in 10 g

                    9 blocks in 10g

Burroughs and Schenn both have 89.5 oiSV%

Stillman has 85 oiSV%

Burroughs also get the nod as the better agitator. Picking his spots better. Has a goal, and is a devoted local boy.

I thought our boy would get a chance once we shipped Hunt out but I guess that's not the case...

Burroughs over Stillman should be a no brainer at this point

I went to the game last night.
One of the great parts about being there live, is you can watch individual players better instead of following the puck on TV. (Especially from works tickets in row 8. Rad)

Petey gives it every shift.  Always involved.

Demko has something wrong with him. It’s the only thing that makes sense.  He can’t just suck this much.

Boeser puts in the effort, he just can’t skate.

My main takeaway, Miller deserves all the shit talk coming his way.
If he doesn’t have the puck, he doesn’t care.
Gives up on almost every play.
Just watched as the guy he should be covering gets in deep and scores.
Gives the puck away and casually sakes to the bench.

If it wasn’t for the points, he be in the press box.

Miller, you are now my whipping boy.
You suck and your effort is disgusting.
Worst signing ever.   The guy is worth 6 mill max.
I am going to be leading the Trade Miller Train for the rest of the year.
He is a bum and one of the biggest reasons we keep losing.
Even McDavid puts in a better effort in the Dzone, and that says a LOT.

He was never punished for what they did to Beach in 2011.

Give Bruce, a proper freakin mandate !!!!!. Never mind humiliating him. JR has handles this deplorably. It's him that is the unnecessary component.

I agree its been handled poorly, and you know JR won't do it.

BB in the end wasn't his hire and his style doesn't match what JR's looking for, so move on now rather than wasting valuable games.

Honestly Bruce should call a timeout the next time we get a 2 goal lead lol

There was a point in the game (3rd?) where the Canucks had pressure on Vegas, the Knights iced the puck. They must've been tired and would've had to stay out there to defend. But instead, Bruce called a timeout, allowing Vegas to rest their players. :sadno:

I've seen a few posts about bandwagon/tank/ style fans changing their minds if the game's outcome is a win or loss.

I would point out that for a lot of fans, the win or loss does not change their mind.

Most tankers, stay tankers, no matter the win.

Most 'pom pomers' stay pom pomers no matter the losses.

Only people going back and forth is about 20% in between those two groups.

"Tanker" is a bit of a misnomer for a lot of us.. umm.. realists.

I want a real rebuild. The team performance we're seeing right now is the result of never actually rebuilding, cutting corners in a desperate attempt to put butts in seats and be relevant.

There's plenty of blame to go around, but the reality is - this team stinks, and doesn't need to tank to get a high pick. It will never be a contender without stock piling picks and actually picking players who don't suck.

This team is tanking without management even removing "key pieces" in a blatant attempt to lose games for better draft positioning. They're that bad. The group as a whole just isn't good enough and there's no trading our way out of the mess. That's been tried for the last decade, and obviously didn't work at all.

Tear it down and the pompom crowd can have even more to cheer about when a team that really shouldn't ever win a game, wins a game.
