180 degree turn is a little early this year compared to last...let's hope they keep it up

Three differences between now and ten games ago:

1. The new faces in the lineup have had at least some time to adjust to a new team, system, home and culture, which leads to:

2. Because they are more comfortable, they are playing with more confidence and familiarity with each other, which leads to:

3. Trusting each other on the ice and knowing they have each other's back, which leads a coordinated team effort.

Got to hope BB sticks to the same lineup and same defensive pairings for the next game and hope this win didn't take too much out of our sails. We spent a lot of time on the PP and that was as easy a win as you'll get fatigue-wise.

I'd like to see OEL and Bear shoulder 20+ minutes next game, Myers and Burroughs back down to 18 and Hughes in the 22 minute range.

Up front we really shouldn't be too tired, most of the game was won in the first 40 minutes and they cruised in the 3rd. No one played less than 11 minutes which is a good sign BB was balancing the lines in the third, and none of our top 3 centers played over 19 minutes. Great game management to give us a good shot tomorrow.

What a Knight-er I mean night! The Canucks dominated the “Glow-Up” Knights! The arena tried to get UV lights all over the place to get everything glowing in the dark, and it failed miserably. The towel are glow in the dark, but it wasn’t picking up from the lightings.

Definitely one of the best game I attended and a memorable one! Got to meet Ethan Bear, Ilya Mikheyev, and my favourite guy once again, Elias Pettersson! Just before embarking upon the bus heading to a b2b game against the San Jose Sharks!

Holy shit.

wonder if he could win the Norris and not score a goal this year.

currently on pace for 80 points and a solid plus minus.

think, one day he will get a shot working.

but right now, the Nucks have a ton of good options for him to set up.

best wing man ever…

guaranteed to score with Hughes by your side…

Honestly should have more with the amount of breakaways he's sprung. But for me it's how clean he's been defensively,. A few goals would look nice but with the guys we have on the pp especially,  his job is to get them the puck and he's doing that pretty damn well.

It's funny that even tho EP only has 1 ppg how much space that threat creates for JT. We see that goal all the time Quinn to JT who's left wide open because EP gets double teamed. Then they adjust and Quinn just goes to EP and they score lol.

That top unit is impossible to stop when clicking.

Hughes is a great player.  PPG and a plus 3 on a team that’s been bad.  And he does it without a high end partner.  Imagine where Hughes is now if we kept Tanev?

ideally Hughes has someone who is more physical than tanner but still shutdown still who can move the puck decent... wait, wait WTF, he is playing with a game name Schenn who now leads NHL in hits I think, oh yeah and I heard he is a great character guy who sticks up for teammates...imagine that

Schenn is an awesome teammate, but there’s a reason why he was the 7th D on Tampa.  Hughes carries that pairing, and that extra responsibility limits his five on five offence.

I agree, he's ok for now, we still need 2 top 4 d men

Getting top four D is expensive.  Lots of teams do acquire them though via trade or free agency.  Tampa won those two recent Cups with Hedman as their only drafted Dman.  Colorado was able to get Toews for Makar via trade.  IMHAO we only need one more D, and that’s the ideal partner for Hughes.  Not too sure who that is, or what the cost would be though.

Schenn is like having Cement- (can't remember the nickname) on the line with Gretzky. He allows Hughes to play his game without the fear of a cheapshot. Everyone knows that if they try to play dirty they will have to fight and as most of the weasels in the league aren't fighters... He might have been a 7th on Tampa but he has a bigger role here.

Strongest game of the year for the Canucks. The goals were almost incidental to the overall team play. That said I cannot ignore the Miller assist on Bo's goal. It was the play of the game IMHO. Strongest game of the year because of the d-side game by not just the defense but by the forwards as well.

Special note to the 4th line which is playing great hockey. IMO the Canucks got a good one in Aman.

Just loved Boudreau's TOI adjustments last night. Everyone should be relatively fresh for SJ. Put Martin back in.

I think Demko should get a shot at this game. The only way to get him going is to play him. Playing him against SJ should help to get his confidence back.
