People really underestimate what Shaw and Walker did as assistants.  Now they're gone and replaced by an incompetent scumbag in Mike Yeo, and we're seeing the results.  JR and Allvin should be ashamed of themselves for allowing Yeo anywhere near our room after what Green did to this group.  This is the kind of havoc a coach with serious character issues can cause.  Fire Yeo and a lot of the problems go away, even without replacement.

Trying to justify losing a 2nd is so bush. Play Burroughs already.

The Rangers got 2 superstars through free agency and won 2 lotteries.

guess that’s how you “do it right”

spare me.

They actually made two very good trades to steal Zibanejad from the Sens and then got  Trouba from the Jets.

They’ve basically done everything right from drafting, to free agency, to trades. Benning couldn’t even get one of those right…

2017 draft: Lias Andresson 7th overall instead of Necas, Suzuki, etc.

2018 draft: Vitali Kravtsov 9th overall instead of Dobson, Wahlstrom, etc.

2019 draft: Kappo Kakko 2nd overall instead of Byram, Seider, Zegras, etc.

2020 draft: Laffreniere 1st overall

It’s easy to make changes when superstars don’t take offers from other teams, or are ready to rot away in the NCAA to ensure that they sign with you after the 4 years.

They won 2 lotteries. The New York Rangers model is a joke and is not replicable.

NJ is the only team with better luck in the lottery than the Rangers. Even at that, it’s insanely close.

Yeah their drafting has been pretty abysmal considering the pics they had. Not a gold standard there at all.

They made cap room, traded some guys for picks, and sent a letter to fans stating that there would be a rebuild.

Their team/city can handle a rebuild, especially one in which they win lotteries.

for reference, we are 31st in lottery luck in the league. Rangers are top 2.

would you really want to watch another season like this where we end up dropping 3-4 spots to watch NJ, NYR or Philly jump up another 10+ spots?

That rebuild model is a joke.

Agreed.   We have inbetween periods for that.   Also get rid of all the post media stuff except for one game a week.   Coaches don't need to be grilled daily on stuff.   Neither do the players need to come down like they just had a prize fight in a nothing regular season game.   Let the guys get a sound bite from the first star of the game on the way to the dressing room that's it.   Save the rest for the playoffs, and even then, just do a post series wrap up until the final.

Instead of players and coaches taking the heat they should change it up to referees!!!
