This man is 7-2-1 despite allowing 4 or more goals in 7 of his 13 starts. Unbelievable.

On pace for a 7 million + contract. RIP

Gotta re-sign Kuz to keep Petey happy.

If they let Boeser and Horvat go they’re gonna need offense. Those kind of stats will cost you a lot more in free agency.

As long as Petey has Mikheyev he is fine.

Looking forward to Boeser and Horvat trades. And more.

Need more than that to be good offensively.

We’re not going back to being a one line team.

Garland started the comeback vs Montreal. Seems to have his bite back. Drew a penalty tonight.

Miller runs the power play which is top 10 in the league. Tough and edgy player. I’m so glad he’s signed.

OEL is highly underrated on these boards. Get over how he got here and his cap hit and think of how much worse we would be without him in the line up.
He tough as nails. Great with the puck. Runs the 2nd PP and plays huge minutes. Get over it and shake your head.

Myers plays a run and gun style game. Same as OEL. When he’s out of the line up he is instantly missed.

I said it so many times over the last couple of years. There are some really good players on this team. I still feel like there’s some growing that needs to happen but if they can start figuring out how to play together and be more consistent they will be dangerous at some point soon.

You don't think we could find at least a defenseman equal to OEL's abilities for 7.26m?

They won’t let Horvat go. They will get everyone signed. Cap will go up. Myers off the books end of next season. Probably an OEL buyout or cap dump somewhere down the line.

Another game where my wife had to fetch the battery and booster cables from the garage to give me a boost to get my heart functioning again. I had wanted to keep the Glenfydich at hand, but she was afraid I’d become an alcoholic from watching the Canucks tear a loss from the jaws of victory, then steal the Canuck Orca from the jaws of the great white at the last minute. We are really mastering the art of the tease.

Yes he’s overpaid but not by much.  He signed that contract in his prime. He earned it and is still a solid NHL defender.

Right - you said we'd be much worse without him in the lineup. I beg to differ. His absence would open up 7.26m that we could use to find a player at least as good as him, and probably have some space left over.

Don’t see it.

They’re not gonna let two 30-40 goal scorers go. We don’t have enough in the pipeline to replace that production for a long time.

So what moves do you want to see or expect?

And no, I'd say he's quite substantially overpaid.

If Petey sustains this trajectory we will have a superstar leading this team then alll bets will be off. His evolution is happening this season before our eyes.
He looks bigger. He is way faster. He’s getting stronger on his skates and most importantly he really looks like he belongs. He has swagger. He’s still filling out. Just wait till he reaches his man frame at around 190-195 lbs. He is going to dominate out there.
