No sense in pretending to respect this worthless sack of $#@&.  He's simply not welcome here and I'm done with this team as long as this dirtbag and the vermin responsible for hiring him are here.  Tocchet belongs in prison, not behind our bench.

I don’t know what this is all about. Was there something in his past?  I am genuinely curious and don’t know why such strong feelings.

My single biggest fear about Tocchet coaching is that I am going to turn into Heffy

At least give it 6 months to see how the players respond. Then you can turn into Heffy if you don't like what you see.

That's what most folks plan on doing I think. Every coach is a product of their players, and every player is a product of the coach.

Who knows how different players will respond, rise or fall.

Okay well pro boxers tend to hang them up because of concussion issues and other demands of being a boxer. Has nothing to do with them not being tough anymore. Completely different example.

This is stupid though why are we taking about some hypothetical fight between a player and coach. It’s not gonna happen. But there’s really no comparison in the toughness department and I stand by that. Guys that are tough will always be wired that way. Miller does it out of obligation not cause he likes it.

If he doesn't have a time machine, he doesn't have a chance.

Age is undefeated, no one beats it.

58 is not old. I got into a good one 2 years ago. And I’m every bit as imposing at 63 as I was at 30 pugilism you don’t forget. I’m sure Smithers joe could attest to my  comment :)

He doesn’t need to, that’s why.

I guarantee he would pulverize him if he really wanted to waste his time.

How did we go from the greatest heavy wieght boxer vs a you tuber ? when talking about Tocshit vs JT...

theres a term for that kind of discussion...is it called strawman?

That’s right hated him but he took on all of em. Tuff mofo

Tocchet was tough as nails, no problem. But if you look at that clown, he went at him off guard and Clark still stood up pretty damn good.

Anyway, this shouldn't be about him or his toughness, this is a bonehead move by the owner/management puppet.

ok . old guys can and are tough. ofcourse.

JT at 29 still smokes a retired 58 year old.

It's not just toughness, it's all the extras that youth provides in that scenario.

It proves he is not baby doodoo.

Any man willing to bare knuckle fight during his job should not be referred to as such.

No deal. Pay me $5.5m with full insurance and I'll give Soucy a go.

Pay me $8m and I'll dress up in drag for 6 months, convince Soucy to fall in love with me, spend Christmas with his family, buy a puppy together and hold his hand while we watch The Notebook.

There’s very different degrees of 58 too.

If a guy smokes and drinks his whole life sure he’s gonna be weak and out of shape.

Lots of 58 year olds who are even fitter and stronger than they were when they were 30. They might not have the same stamina, but we’re not talking about 9 rounds, we’re talking about a fight, which doesn’t typically last more than a few minutes if that.

He’s more than a “YouTuber” he’s a trained boxer now.

Its actually a pretty good comparison when you’re talking about a very experienced NHL fighter who fought some of the best vs a guy who occasionally fights against other non fighters.

I think it's because he ran a small sports book 15 years ago that he admitted to.

And 15 years ago it was a no no... Now we can't go a commercial break or boards advertisement without sportsbooks being shoved down our throats... So maybe a little hypocrisy?

As hard nose a player as he was it’ll be interesting how deals with the casual atmosphere. And the immaturish sore loser stuff which he wouldn’t go for. In that regard there’s some acountability coming their way.

And that's what Smyl was. I use to watch him and Beck terrorize the WHL back in the day. Despite his size, that guys tough as nails, and obviously not a bad player or leader.

Inexperience and overeagnerness can often be a younger guys downfall.

Youre acting like a 58 year old can barely hold up their arms anymore.

he's a good wrassler too.

he's actaully doing good things for the fighting world. Has won me over.

It's not a good comparison to our discussion though
