Simple reason is that many agents have unlockables/tiers for negotiations set for 100+ point players. That is one of the reasons why Miller for example took $8 and not $8.5/year. We need all the cap savings we can get so if we can get EP at 10 vs 10.5 he doesn't need that 100 points.
