  1. Still relevant today!

  2. If Canucks win 1st or 2nd overall, would you agree with them trading for a slew of other assets?

      No.

But it would be interesting to know how much people might overpay for this much hype.

If you could get five great pieces (like Lindros mentioned above), it would definitely be a lot to put beside Petey.

If we finish with a top 3-5 pick the only trade I’m making is that pick in a monster offer for the 1st overall.

      Absolutely not.

  3. Which could be why Tochett is being brought in.. Certain big contracts are going to be held accountable on a new level, creating opportunities to adjust the roster if they don't like it.
  4. Its looking like this team will have 3 30 goal scorers by the time this season wraps up.. We haven't seen that since 2009-10 (and Henrik had 29 not 30).

Wow, had to go back to 1995-95 to match that stat where Mogilny had 55, Linden had 33 and Gelinas had 30.  This team can score, just has some work to do on the back end.

The difference of when Petey is playing good vs struggling is enormous, its like a whole different team.

Kind of pathetic considering trashville is a solid but almost bubble team and yet they have 2 40 goal scorers and a 20 goal 88 point dman . I love this team but we have and may never be good at anything lmao

  5. Man, I didn't clue into this until now, Millsy is on a 98 point points projection at the rate hes moving!  He should eclipse 30 goals this year.  Imagine if everyone else around him was firing at their potential too!

  6. I'm weird. I'm rocking a pair of Yamaha HS8's (powered studio monitors) an using a M-Audio 2x2 to mix them.
  7. so trade our 4th line for Beagle Roussel and Erickson?
  8. Anyone get details on Rathbone?  That hit didn't look good

One thing I read on HF page, was the Condors announcer apparently said he put both thumbs up(being wheeled off). Sure hope this is true, & rules out a back/neck injury.

  9. What I see is an opportunity to shore up a very poorly thought out D-core that we currently employ.. This will be Rutherford & Co's first real opportunity to show what they got, they won't piss around on this trade.
  10. a few days ago I witnessed a few debating Quinn Hughes usefulness and whether or not hes a legit top 2 for a team.. Well boys, the proof is in the pudding.  This team missed him sorely tonight.  Quinn doesn't just chew up minutes, he creates time and space and thats exactly what we needed tonight and didn't see enough of.  The team rallied well after Schenn took a beating and Halak was chased (I would have pulled him after 4 goals) but Quinn I think would have tipped the odds in our favour.. Just my 2 cents.. Night.

Quinn does settle down things on our end, and can very quickly move the puck out of our zone either with a perfect pass or he will avoid a forecheck and tear down the ice.  Canucks were overwhelmed last night and I think he would have made a difference, helped with possession and settled down that momentum that the Islanders gained scoring so quickly.

    3. hammertime

      hammertime

This is a weird take man. Quinn isn't clearing the crease on those screen shots. We got beat had nothing to do with missing huggy. You have to have the puck to move it. Hammonic or Tryamkin might have made a difference. Or Halak not playing like garbage. But Quinn? Thats like saying we would have won that fight if Garland dropped the mitts instead of Shenn.

    4. Type R

      Type R

Halak was absolutely garbage, but a guy like Quinn with his speed and poise tends to hold the puck more, which means the Isles dont have it.  There is less turnover chance and a much likelier chance he can transition it out. He is far FAR better than 5 out of 6 of our D that were playing last night and he would have absolutely helped.

  11. Took 2 mins for footage of him as a Canuck? Don't get me wrong, I love juice but interesting title for the content
  12. Last years ending drove me nuts, I couldn't believe that decision.. I am looking forward to the changes in the cars and the ability for drivers to be closer and fight harder.
  13. is the stats page broken?  We are missing some key players from the list, notably Horvat and Miller?

    1. Type R

on closer inspection, it looks like anyone on protocol isn't on the list.

Horvat and Miller have been traded (e4).

  14. Its pretty crazy.. I bought my house (on the high side) for $420k and I put another 30k on it to finish basement and install heat pump. That was 2011. Today the government says its value is $694k, and its up 23.5% from last year. Whats crazier is I'm going through separation, so had it professionally appraised, and its parked at $820k in todays market.
  15. Mitchell wins for me. His stick was unrivaled, so many shots deflected up and out, or would strip a guy on the rush. His physicality was amazing, especially a play I recall where he came out of the penalty box after a Hawks PP and checked Toews into next week. Tanev was an absolute warrior as well, but Mitchell I think was more effective overall, and this team sorely misses a player like that.
  16. Just saw a comments on twitter, where someone said JP Barry mentioned Petey is looking for term and 10+M per season.  Am I in the minority that doesn't like those figures?  He's had injury history already, so I seriously question that amount.  Personally, I think a bridge under 8M should be answer, and if there is term, nothing over 9.

Pettersson should be getting the Sebastian Aho contract at this stage.  Aho is better than Petey right now but Aho grosses more of his salary due to him living in Carolina.  8.45 million per year for 6 years (or whatever Aho is earning) is a fair deal.

    3. Dazzle

      Dazzle

@Patel Bure IMHO 7ish range is more than fair. Barzal is often the comparison, and I think Pettersson's better, although he has injury concerns.

I found that Boeser has played well this past season regardless of who he plays with, so I think that should be considered.

If I had to take a guess, 7.5 to a max of 8 is what Pettersson should get.

    4. Patel Bure

      Patel Bure

@Dazzle - agreed.  My hope is that both Petey and Quinn get a 7 million bridged deal similar to Tkachuk, Barzal, and Werenski’s original deal I believe.

  17. I appreciate where you are coming from, but my immediate thought is.. why not both? Quinn already creates such a threat when he's on the ice, if we have another threat in our arsenal, this team gets much more lethal. The last decade has had us riddled with sub par basic d-core, no offense to a few, but this new style is so much more dynamic and fluid. Its amazing to watch and if Rathbone is 3/4 the player Hughes is, having both of them is going to be pretty damn amazing.
  18. Hughes currently has 1 more point in 5 less games, and doesn't come with the on ice issues that Tkachuk causes on the daily. Canucks could have had him, passed, and rightfully so, he isn't a Canuck in terms of what he brings.
  19. Ok, 2 very gutsy wins in a row, anyone keep track of the record without Petey, seems to be well above .500

It's pretty impressive how we've managed without him, hopefully he can completely recover and join us at some point

Horvat with Hoglander and Pearson is a pretty deadly line now, with Petey back, that gives Green two really good looking lines.  Podz will have to do some heavy lifting to crack the top 6 next year.

With the Laffs goaltending, Thomas Gradin, Stan Smyl & Curt Fraser could've come out of retirement & be our 1st line and there's a good chance we still would've won.

  20. Claim him, we need the depth for team covid
  21. No way I'd trade both Horvat and Miller. Miller (although isn't one) is one of our better centers, and Bo is a beast on the draw, this would kill our depth. You are also trading away the two leaders in our group that you would hope would show Eichel the ropes as he is showing he needs that. As enticing as it is, I don't see him coming here because it would cost too much, and I'm not convinced he would replace the points needed.
  22. Got a better idea!! We flip you to the Sabres for a closet Canucks fan of theres
  23. Hate seeing people lose their job, but i find walker so very negative. Great change overall, happy to hear it!
