I think she truly loved Tyrion but was so heartbroken when he called her a whore and told her to leave, that she decided to betray him. Both ways don't make a lot of sense honestly. This season turned into a bit of a greek tragedy. 'Good guys' killing off other 'good guys', due to misunderstanding or miscommunications. Shae and Tyrion is one example. While the acting on the whole was much better than expected, Shae was a serious let down for me. She was made to be far more important (and self sufficient) than need be. In the book (up till where I am, mid way through SoS) she is what she is, a dumb whore. And though they increased her role markedly, the 'actress' they found was downright brutal. Meanwhile, why did Tyrion, the whore-monger, play the high road card with Sansa Stark in an era that obviously included all sorts of age-inappropriate relations? He'd never see Shae again regardless of what happened. Now Sansa's going to be with Little Finger, who's even older than he is. Because Sansa is a maiden of high birth... Nevermind, it's not a spoiler, I just completely forgot that it was in the TV series, Tyrion was once married before and I think because of the way it ended made him more protective of Sansa, plus he knows not to piss off the North any more. Yezzan looks like he lost a little bit of weight. It looks like the ironborn and griffin storylines might be getting cut from next season.
