Short season: blip on the radar.... Regroup for the full season and use the short year to grab and stockpile on high draft picks??? Perhaps an opening to groom replacement players for the soon to be retired Sedins?

Troll. The Sedins are 32. They aren't leaving for Sweden for another five years.

Wouldn't it make more sense to use the shorter season as an opportunity to make another run at the Cup, hopefully after suffering less wear and tear than during a full regular season?

If its a full season forget it. But playing 3 month of hockey when all the other teams are well rested? Why not use the short year to the teams best advantage and turn it into glass half full situation. While the twins have 5 years maybe left... Why drop out on potential high picks ? You wouldn't want McKinnon?

Listen to yourself. You sound crazy.

The Canucks are in their prime right now. We are still arguably one of the best, if not best, team out there. The twins haven't declined yet. We've got decent depth up front as well, if not decent secondary scoring. Our d core is beast. Our goalies are beast.

You want a cup contender to tank and you're calling it glass half full. NONSENSE. The nightmare is if the lockout goes all season, where we lose a prime year. A shortened season is neither good nor bad. NO season is bad.

Getting a first overall pick doesn't guarantee a Stanley Cup. A team as talented as the Canucks should never pass up on an opportunity to make another run at the Cup.

Teams don`t think like random dudes do. Every player out there would come out firing 100% every night whether the season was 10 games or 100.

No fricken way! Why would you write off a season just because it's shortened?

If anything it may benefit the Canucks. It would give Kesler more time to recover, plus the Canucks always seem to go on a tear halfway through the season. Which would end up being around playoff time if the season started in January.

This team aint tanking until they start to suck.

Shorter season means a far less grueling road to the Stanley Cup, so no! We go balls to the wall and try to bring the cup home.

If there's a shorter season the odds of the Canucks winning the cup go up by quite a bit.

The biggest reason we haven't been able to win it all is consistency throughout the playoffs and a main reason for that is because we peak early in February and are too banged up and bruised by the playoffs to perform at that same level.

With an abbreviated season, hopefully our peak will match up with the playoffs and our players will be much fresher and less fatigued to win the Cup.

Our current Canucks seem to hit their stride around the 60-70 game mark. It would almost be an ideal situation if we lost 20-30 regular season games due to the lockout.

Never tank it. I hate the idea of just giving up and intentionally losing games.

Anyone know what this draft is like? Not that I am saying tank, but all I know for sure, with the lottery chances are, we will be drafting "higher" then 26. Is this a strong draft? Incase there is a lock out that is... but a shorten season will benefit us big time. The most traveled team in the NHL......

No hockey ,whatsoever.

I say forget the first overall, regular season madness and play enough to safely squeak in,giving us better draft potential every year.

President Trophies are not the prize and stocking up on the highest draft picks possible is beneficial and preferential.

Not sure if you're trolling, but the obvious answer is because "We're among the elite teams in the league and we could win any season now..." Why would we throw our cup chances away at a good prospect? Sounds like a "never try, never fail" attitude.

So the Sedins told you they were retiring soon?

If they were actually retiring soon do you honestly think they'd want to squander a shot at winning the cup while the team is a contender?

The core group on this team is aging quick, there's not a lot of years left where the Sedins etc. will be at the top of their games. A shortened season would benefit the Canucks because of guys like Kesler who need to rehab, plus playing less games would keep the team fresher for the grind.

So, no, your suggestion is moronic.
