Canuck Surfer
Exactly. If he's willing to correct mistakes that's a good thing. Torres for a 4th or 5th rounder? That's an easy trade. Those picks can be re-acquired.
Canuck Surfer
Raffi was a great 3rd liner. Also a one time 5th overall pick. There is some skill behind his game; maybe not a FT promotion to 2knd line, but a pretty adequate depth guy who can step up. When Chara was manhandling the Twins, I always thought we should have sent Torres in fore-checking for them... My god, the last thing we need is more 3rd liners... Burnsey
Torres would be great for our 4th or even 3rd line right now. We lack depth and Torres can be decent offensively while dishing out those big hits. Sure he has a few 'incidents' but when you play with an edge you are bound to get that. He had a solid 30 point season (with 7 in the playoffs) when he played for us. Everyone loved what he brought, and at this point he is an upgrade from players like Weise, Ebbett, Sestitio, Pinizzotto, etc. Definitely need more than him to make a good run at the cup this year though. And I never heard about the rumours regarding him and Higgins, hopefully it isn't true and we can get him but definitely rather keep Higgins than replace him with Torres ---- if that is the case. tas
it's funny how people here only seem to remember the energy level, momentum changing hits, and the odd timely goal that raffi brought to the table, and not the 20 game stretches of utter invisibility that came in between or the brutal penalties that came with his reckless style and lazy defensive play. raffi torres sucked as a canuck and bringing him back would be laughable. CookieCrumbs
People are honestly arguing that Raffi isn't an upgrade on guys like Weise, Sestito, Pinizzotto, Gordon, Sweatt and whomever else slides in on that 4th line? Now that my friend, is laughable.

Understand
Torres > Weise, Sestito, Pinner Therefore, even with a healthy line-up Torres is an upgrade. Upgrading is how you win. Therefore, trading for Torres would help the Canucks win. Plus, everyone knows him and he has past chemistry with Lapierre & Hansen.

goblix
I was one to scoff at this thought, but Torres is a great 3rd / 4th liner and we could use much more of that kind of skill/grit/hitting ferocity on that. Plays well with Lapierre, and would be nice with Hansen too. thats one awesome 4th line Higgins - Roy - Kassian, good third line?
Trebreh
Pinozotto+Ebbet+Alberts for Torres. Then trade for Clowe Sedin - Sedin - Kassian Jensen - Kesler - Burrows Clowe - Higgins - Hansen Torres - Lappiere - Weise Then we pull a Boston and grind the hell out of every team we face lol. Nashi
Would be nice to have him back if he doesn't get suspened while with us and we don't give up much.
TOMapleLaughs
I like it. But it's bad asset management, imho, to trade for a guy we could've just kept if we wanted him.
