SergioMomesso
we were hurting for RH centerman. Good move by Benning. Funny how Sutter was involved in trade talks for Kesler and ends up here anyways.

Spotted Zebra
Good trade, Horvat will eventually be the second line centre, maybe by the end of the season. Bones just didn't have the speed or checking ability to be a capable third line checker. People may be sour about the second, but we got a third back as well don't forget. Shekky
We Still have another secound round pick and we get a player who hopefully will resign in the following offseason.
TimberWolf
So will he be dealt at the deadline, leave for nothing or re-signed? If re-signed at a reasonable rate the move is fine. Not Pat Quinn earthshaking awesome, but tolerable at worst. If he's deadline traded for a good pick then it's a wash If he moves on then Benning will have some 'splaining to do. puckdontlie
Great trade... a nice upgrade on centre and if he doesn't pan out, it's just more cap space and a possible trade for futures. I bet Benning isn't done and by the end of the offseason Vey won't be the 4th line ctr. I'm sure Benning is looking to pick up some D too since he shipped out Clendening. sharnhayre
This trade becomes a win once Sutter gets a new contract from the Canucks. CDC and everyone will forget about the 2nd that we gave up in this trade. This trade is a win for both teams. Pens get some depth on D, create cap space and sign Fehr, Canucks get a RH Centre who is a great 3rd liner they've been going after for a while, and a pick as well. Horvat
great trade... suddeny we're a playoff team come April.... Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Baertschi - Horvat - Vrbata Prust - Sutter - Dorsett Kenins - Vey - Virtanen Tanev - Edler Hamhuis - Sbisa Corrado - Bartkowski Weber
cbdoubleu
Dangerous penalty killer. Above 50% on FO. He hits and plays physical hockey without taking a lot of penalties. He can skate without knee-braces on. He isn't 87.7% bald. He's a Sutter, so you know the effort will be there night after night. Nick who? Never heard of her. By sea and land
so refreshing having Benning as our GM. The entire city and province knows we aren't a contender. While most GMs are flicking off their light switch in their office for the summer, trader Jim pulls off an excellent deal. Sure Cole Cassels slowed down McDavid at the Memorial Cup but that'll be a large task at the NHL level. Cassels will be fine one day but I think he's ticketed to Utica for at least 1-2 seasons. Enter Sutter. This deal exemplifies Benning speeding up the rebuild. We now have our experienced checking centre who's good on draws and can help shutdown other opposing centers in our conference. Both Alberta teams have grown leaps and bounds. Instead of waiting to develop one of our kids, we've just acquired him and for a very good price. Bonino wasn't here for the long haul. Too slow, suspect #2 center, not an ideal #3 center in the western conference. Trader Jim did it again. Love the deal.
YEGCanuck
The exchange of draft choices will likely end up being a wash. As I understand it, we give up the Ducks second round pick for Buffalo's third. They may be within a few picks of each other.
LeanBeef
I actually liked Bonino and Clendening... Sutter looks ok though Heres hoping Vey can replace Bonino's offensive production.
canuckcam1963
We give up Bonino 26, Glendening 21, 2nd Rd pick for Sutter and 3rd?? Sutter is 6'3 but does not play style of his uncles.. Feel we give up more then we should of? Bonino and 3rd for Sutter and 3rd? We did not get enough back for Lack? We get 3rd rd and 7th rd....Should of got a high prospect and at least a 2nd.. We cannot keep giving prospect..I had confidence in Benning but starting to wonder... Like Sven Baertschi trade...Sven will be a 25 goal score and has great speed..Be patient he will be good top 6 player for sure..

5Fivehole0
Not a fan of this trade, Bonino was on par with Sutter last season while playing a tough role. Sutter could break out, but still... I don't like this trade. Why trade Forsling for Clendenning when you're just going to trade Clendenning? Why trade a cheaper, just as effective Bonino for Sutter, who is a pending UFA?
