Hortankin
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/canucks-red-wings-one-number-off-winning-nhl-draft-lottery/ Not sure how to quotes urls but I'm sure someone will do that for me lol Very disappointed, but there is a possibility of trading up and even if we don't we could move back or maybe pick up Vilardi? Either way we're getting a good player, just wish it could of been Hischier
Frogger009
Here's one for you... If we had 1 more point we would have had Jerseys numbers and won the lottery. Team is cursed.

AlwaysACanuckFan
We are still getting an "excellent player" and I'd be happy with any one of Mittelstadt Vilardi Glass Necas or top PP QB defenceman.
samurai
it is about how well Benning drafts not where we fall
-SN-
The number 11 strikes again. In the entry lottery in 1970 (on June 11) we thought we won when the wheel hit #2 (II), but it was actually Buffalo's #11. In 2017 we had 11 but it only serves to deny us the pick. #11 Messier. Alflives
Hischier and Patrick are bust potential players. Heck, is there really a big drop in potential between a lot of the top five to even ten guys? If JB didn't miss, we should get a very good player. Nuxfanabroad
Won't even read their 'methodology' details..it's the latest troll-job from a league that probably hates the owners. Too much pettiness involved, IMHO. Best to have other interests, because there's no integrity in their games.

Wayne Maki #11 Not surprised at all with the result, but disappointed. Sure, they'll draft a good player, but not a #1C. They needed this. Maybe next year. stonecoldstevebernier
Kind of misleading... just because the winning combo had a 12 doesn't mean it was close to drawing an 11 or a 13, since its completely random. Could've been 8, 3, 10, 4, etc, whatever. Really a nothing story. Bring on the draft.

The top 2 have separated themselves but 3-10 are very good too. I think that depending on the GM, the ranking of those 8 players could be very different. Vallardi is probably 3 but the others.....it depends on how you rate your criteria.....character, speed, size, shot, playmaking, IQ.....so there's no saying that Benning's guy isn't there at

IBacon Strips
Vilardi or Heska to draft, or trade the pick in a bundle for a young prospect with nhl experience a la Drouin. I don't really want to waste the pick on the other players that might be available around there...

Vancouver Canucks The Canucks joined the NHL in 1970 and are the longest-serving NHL team to never have the top pick in the draft. In their first draft, they picked Dale Tallon at No. 2 and didn’t pick that high again until 1988 when they took Trevor Linden
