  1. Did we need another left D or does he play the right side?
  2. I thought I read somewhere that it is on SN1. If it is streaming they don't put up the info until closer to puck drop.
  3. I am a little surprised to hear the negative talk about Rathbone. His last game wasn't his best but other than that I thought he has had a good camp. His skating has been great and he is a very good passer and distributes the puck well. He looked good when he was playing with Schenn and expect that is where he will start the season.
  4. I know some were not seeing him in Vancouver this season but his size, skating and willingness to mix it up physically makes it impossible for the Canucks to send him down.
  5. It can take 8 to 10 months to recover from Mono and then having to put the weight back on and getting his strength back can be a bit of challenge. I think under the best of circumstances he would have been looking at January before he would have been back to where he should be development wise. Now considering the injury, I don't think we should be writing off this 18 year old kid quite yet.
  6. I think people are going to be surprised at how good Mikey will be and he will challenge Silovs for the #1 spot in Abby.
  7. After watching him last season and then watching him in the Young Stars games it is like seeing two different people. Sometimes I forgot last year that he was the youngest player in the AHL last season. He could give anyone on the forth line a run for their money and I wouldn't be surprised to see him be the first call up when a forward is needed. His strength and speed has sure improved and made him a very different player this year.
  8. I think the year of the taxi squad hurt him and that is why he had a tough start last season. I think we will see a good start for Jack this year.
  9. I was thinking that part of the delay was that they are also trying to work out something for the Abby Canucks as well?
  10. Brad May was a Pretty good scrapper and in his day was always one of the toughest fighters around. He had some memorable fights as a Canuck.
  11. I love listening to Alf talk about the Leafs.
  12. That has to bode well for him in my eyes and my wife says they are my best feature.
  13. Maybe a good line in three years: Podz Bo Lekky.
  14. I think he will be a good bottom 6 player. He may need a year in Abby but that is not a negative. I got to see a few games this year and I think his skating is better than some are saying. He has a good shot off the wing though.
  15. I think that Podz will develop similar to Bo. His first season numbers are shaping up to be really good. Bo had 13 goals and 12 assists and Podz has 10 goals and 9 assists with 10 or so games left. If Podz can become an impact player like Bo, he will be a valuable player for us.
  16. I like this guy a lot. His speed has improved each year (heard an interview in the summer by the coach at Northeastern but I can't remember who was doing the interview). He has descent size and good hands. Apparently he is a good character guy and is friends with Rathbone and Demko. I think he will be a solid mid-6 left winger.
  17. I think he may be feeling a bit guilty as his bad start may have cost Jim and Travis their jobs. He seems to be the kind of person that would feel that way.
  18. Pete needs to start producing or Jonathan Dahlen is going to pass him in points sooner than later. JD seems to be having a pretty nice start to his NHL career.
  19. 5 - 1 Canucks win! Pete gets a hat trick and Bo gets the winner!!!
  20. Hey Timrafan, JD got 2 goals the other night for the Sharks. First 2 goals in the NHL. Glad to see him come over as it will be interesting to see how Jonathan Dahlen does after the way things went in Utica. I am looking forward to playing the Sharks and seeing how he stacks up next to Pete.
  21. With so many new players and Pete and Quinn only playing 1 preseason game did you think they were going to come out with a 4 - 0 start? I don't even look at the standings until November. I think by Nov. 1 they will have worked out the kinks and be on the right track. I am a little concerned about our Right side defense. I know it is early but the few Abby games I've watched, Jett Woo has looked real good. I think he is the best Dman in Abby right now. He looks ready to me and his physical game would be nice to see in Vancouver.
  22. I was really impressed with Woo's game last night. He sure is closer to being ready for the Big Club than I thought he would. Looks like he could step in right now and look like he belongs there. Tonight should be fun.
