Expensive 3rd liner? We're paying Beagle 3 million to be a 4th liner. Baer is a value top 6 guy. I'd imagine he'd have a lot more room to play his super skilled game now that we have some talented power guys who will have his back. We don't have much RW depth after Virtanen so I'm thinking Ferland and Miller may be playing on that right side. Almost every play Baer was involved in was a highlight reel goal. He makes something from nothing. He's also one of the few forwards along with Bo who've been mentored by the Sedins. I believe his character will help him push through these barriers and ultimately solidify himself as a top 6 forward.

Pettersson = 0.93 PPG Kotkaniemi = 0.43 PPG Pettersson averaged half a point more per game last season. It's not even close. Of course anything can happen in the future. But I'd put Petey's potential at an Elite High - Franchise Medium while Kotkaniemi's potential is at a Top 6 High - Elite High. Basically, I'm saying Petey's lowest potential is Kotkaniemi's highest potential.

We get a 1st round pick back in Miller who was a 15th overall pick and 8+ years more developed than that unknown 1st round pick we gave up. If we make the playoffs this year, that pick would be a 16th - 31st overall.

Gone are days when goalies were getting 12 and 15 year contracts.

Intriguing player, but not for Virtanen. I'd do a 2nd round pick for him though. Then trade Eriksson to anyone who will take him.

I didn't undervalue him, I put him on the 2nd line in my line-up prediction post. He's dynamic enough to play in most situations so no worries where he will play, he will play. I do wonder how he'd fair on the PP.

Are you kidding? Ever since JB got here, all he's been talking about is building a team full of character guys in a winning environment. He obviously looks at what they bring on the ice, but more importantly he evaluates their attitude. Good character guys that love to win is our team's identity. Attitude goes a long way; look at the Sedins.

Looks like we're going big for next season. We must sign Panarin.
