So Benning aparently could have avoided Luongo's Cap recapture penalty as Florida had offered Luongo back to Vancouver and they declined they could of kept Luongo on the LTIR for the rest of his contract.

So, why couldn't Luongo have gone on LTIR in Florida? Why was it on us to take the contract and put him on LTIR?

Eddy, for sure should be in, and I'd also say Juice should be in the ring above Kes and Salo. Can't really find the words to explain it, but he's made more of a longstanding impact for me than 17 and 6, plus he signed the 1 day to retire a Canuck. He's never really left the city.
I wouldn't be surprised if they signed Eddy to a 1 day when he's finally ready to hang them up. Maybe they go in the ring together.

Whats worse, losing picks or having to carry dead cap?

It's really more of a situational judgement call. Like, what pick(s) are you giving up to dump $x? Is there any return? What is the trajectory of your team? Will the picks project to be late/mid/early in the rounds of this/next year? What's the draft class looking like?
I just think there's too many factors to make a blanket answer either way.
