I've lived in Alberta for several years before moving to the Peg and I can tell you everybody has been telling me over and over how great the Oilers are going to be yet here we are - still watching them flounder. I'm going to enjoy watching this tire fire while it burns :D

If you're looking at the Oilers this season, you'd start to wonder how they forgot to play hockey over last summer.  Or....did they realise its a lot easier to get a #1 defenseman in the draft than trade for him/sign as a free agent.  Kind of a pull a Pittsburgh like when Lemieux was up in the draft....

Doesn't bother me anymore, if Edmonton gets Dahlin people will respect them even less than they do now. I think it's just as likely that we see a repeat of last year where a team leaps all the way up in defy the odds fashion to snag him.

We should announce a travel ban of AB hockey players from our golf courses hahaha

Not going to lie - been here since July and compared to Deadmonton this place rocks - so much to do and folks here love their Jets!!!

Summer here last year was amazing - very hot and humid and there was something happening every night!!

Yes its not Vancouver but it has quickly endeared itself to me in way Edmonton never did

Yeah, if I had to choose between Edmonton and Winnipeg it's the latter for sure. Disclaimer: have been to neither and am judging based on the hockey teams each city has and the women I've met from them.

That's something. I remember thinking of going to the game on my birthday (last year or two years ago)...it was the third straight game that we got shutout lol.

The first game I ever attended, we were shut out 1-0 by the Flames.

Lol I really don't miss living in Edmonton 

Friends of mine who've lived there would quickly agree with you.

Thing is I do still "live there" (Well Sherwood Park) but since relocating to Winnipeg for work I find Jets fans do not irritate me like Oiler fans do. The main reason - they aren't band wagoners. Ever since the pre-season started I see Jets car flags, jerseys etc. Only time I saw that in Edmonton was last Spring for their playoff run.

@Monty lives there, and (on several occasions) talked about the cool stuff to do there.

I live in Winnipeg too and have been to a few Canucks-Jets games, but they haven't won any of them lol. Judging by comments made about BC Place, you should find the Bomber games really fun too
