  1. Day 1 of self isolating feel normal so far. Trying to eat hot or warm food and sipping hot lemon water.

Thank goodness for the internet and modern technology. Stay healthy and stay vigilant everyone.

Beautiful day for a winter day.

      Feeling good mentally and physically.

Any chance I can end this quarantine thing early?:P

  2. Listening to the Pope complain about people choosing not to have kids is hilarious. He's just salty because his evil cult needs children to molest and murder.

Makes sense either people shack and start popping out kids or prefer for more immigrants to keep pace to fill jobs as society ages.

Is annual inflation not like 5 percent or something?

  4. if allvin becomes our new gm, look for more europeans to be drafted.

  5. If we had Bruce to start the year, we would be first or second in our division. Oilers have the worst bottom 6 in the NHL with a collective -43. Their defense is ass.

@Dazzle Don't know what you are getting at here? Never criticized the staff or Boudreau.

I am critical of the lack of talent to work with in the d core left by Benning. That has been exacerbated with Hamonic being in and out of the lineup all season and now piles on with OEL missing the last few games.

Let's just calm down and enjoy the ride. This team is far away from being a contender.

This season is an evaluation season.

Positive to see in the early days they are on the right track to becoming a fun and enjoyable hockey team to watch again.

After all this is the entertainment business after all.

@Dazzle Lets see how long they can sustain this though is my point here.

The way they are playing grinds on you. Playing that hard causes injuries over a full slate.

Kudos to the coaching getting the players playing at closer to their top levels.

However I don't think it is sustainable nor should it be expected too over the course of the season with the lack of talent on the d core.

      Bruce Boudreau

They are playing hard but the Canucks d core is still ass though talent wise as well.

When you have Tucker Poolman playing a major role and Luke Schenn as well you know your d core lacks depth and adequate talent.

Myers and OEL have been decent this year defensively but are bringing next to nothing on offence.

It's only due to Brad Shaw and Boudreau's influence have they been playing better positionally as a whole playing 5 man team defence.

Another injury to the d core would be crippling to the Canucks chances for their recent run to continue as they don't have the cap space to call up anyone or make any trades or signings without salary coming out It helps that Demko is on fire as well.

Bruce Boudreau is a proven veteran NHL coach who can get his teams to make the playoffs.

He doesn't have much playoff success. But his teams are usually pretty fun to watch.

For the Canucks even Boudreau would be an upgrade on Green.

@#Canucks Bezzer plays small but has slightly above average size.

Konecny is smaller yes but playsbwith much more energy and feistiness to his game. So he is a little guy who plays bigger.

Boeser for Konecny who says no?

Both need a fresh start to bump out of slumps and he is related to Horvat as well!

  11. Call me crazy but the winning streak starts against Vegas :)

  12. i’m at the point where i genuinely hope the canucks get absolutely demolished for the next few games leaving the owner no choice but to fire green. small price to pay for salvation

      Bruce Boudreau

Benning has to go too. But the Vancouver job doesn't look that appealing due to high expectations and a meddling omnipresent owner, jeez sounds like the same situation the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in. Both are struggling to be an attractive destination to the top candidates.

  13. I’m watching the Nashville v Florida pre season game.  It’s good to see Fla. is restricting seating to, what looks like, about  30%.

  14. Ovechkin has a higher goals per game rate than Gretzky! Played 96.6% of all Washington’s games since he was drafted! Amazing.

    1. Bruce Boudreau

      Bruce Boudreau

He has got a shot to catch Jagr this year! Another heavy durable guy with great balance and durability.

Would be a big achievement having played through lockouts and covid years if he ever got close to Gretzky.

  15. Benning has wanted PK Subban in the past and was blocked by Bergevin. If the Devils want to land Dougie Hamilton they will want to create cap space and lighten their books. Van needs a heavy proven top 4 d men who can play an abrasive shutdown game to partner Hughes. This is your chance Benning to finally land PK Subban...

    1. Bruce Boudreau

      Bruce Boudreau

I think if Subban is going to be motivated again it will be in a hockey market in a contract year on a playoff team.

It's low risk for a 3rd as a 1 year rental would really show the Canucks are all in to make the playoffs and try to win a round or two imo.

Don't see many other attractive options for now available..

@King Heffy Subban will have to as the mature veteran. He has tools to be a goog defensive d man maybe Shaw can get it out of him in a contract year...

Can you imagine if the Canucks were to land PK Subban to partner Quinn Hughes?

What a guy to add some interest to a team full of milquetoast personalities.

Though Schmidt didn't really fit in despite being a goofy guy himself. PK can turn the switch and compete on ice though when he wants too...

  18. Has it dawned on hockey fans that starting this season only 50% of the teams are going to make the playoffs? You will not get into the playoffs with a .500 record anymore. Not only is winning a cup VERY hard, it's going to hard to get into the playoffs now.

    1. Bruce Boudreau

      Bruce Boudreau

That is good. It should be an accomplishment to be an annual consistent playoff team.

It is still harder to be a playoff team both in the NFL and especially the MLB with so few spots.

  19. Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita "Kuch" Kucherov.

Absolutely destroyed Montreal and their fans for acting like they won the Cup. Interesting coming from cheaters 20 mil over the cap...

  20. If you are in the minority of people yet to get a single jab what are your reasons? Curious to know...

    1. Bruce Boudreau

      Bruce Boudreau

Are non vaccinated people more at risk though? With all these people the majority will have 1 or 2 doses of Covid in their body walking around without masks. Once the winter comes and they get sick from the flu or a common cold mixed with their lingering covid injections they could become a super spreader to an un vaccinated without any antibodies and people may become very sick.

    1. Bruce Boudreau

      Bruce Boudreau

I feel like the pressure is coming to be almost forced to get vaccinated anyone that works a 9-5 or is in school full time knows that physical distancing is unrealistic if back at full capacity like an office environment with multiple high touch shared spaces or classroom.

There is the constant reminder and push from everywhere in the media and from bosses and companies who don't want to pay extra for covid safety supplies and employee sick days and time off.

If you work from home they may not let come back to work without getting a jab.

The NFL is the first sports league basically mandating it as thebfreedoms of vaccinated and unvaxed are the difference between living a normal life and living in covid quarantine permanently.

  22. You're coming off a your 3rd year off an ELC- you got 2 options- sign a fat paycheck and take 8 million to play top 6, top 2D pairing.... your family will be set for life money wise, your children and grandchildren will be rich, you will have the best house on the block and nicest clothes. More importantly if you get injured half way through your 8 year deal, you wont be left bald and bankrupt because you have been forced to retire...

Now would you rather take a 10% cut compared to similar players, settle for 6.5-7M and potentially lose 8 to 10M over 8 years, BUT this gives the team more space to find better players to play with you and potentially win a cup if not multiple....

    What would you do?

Never take less first time around if the team is buying free agent years.

      Term over AAV.

  23. PK Subban looks like he is already planning his post career move getting into ESPN as an NHL analyst.

He still has 1 more year left on his deal with NJ and his play has fallen off a cliff already.

    1. Bruce Boudreau

      Bruce Boudreau

@Alflives He has always been a windbag and talking and promoting himself cones natural to him.

He also has quite an eccentric style and likes wearing eye catching suit combos.

Definitely would not be shocked if he tried to get involved with the Bachelor as well with the ABC connection.

It helps sell the game to the minority audience as ESPN looks to acknowledge hockey as more people get back into the games.
