WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced today that they have dismissed General Manager Joe Mack of his duties. The club also announced that Garth Buchko will no longer serve as CEO and will be replaced by Blue Bombers alumnus Wade Miller.

Mack was originally hired by the Bombers in January of 2010. In 2011, Mack's Blue Bombers enjoyed the best season under his tenure, finishing in first place in the East and earning a berth in the Grey Cup vs. BC. The Bombers missed the playoffs last season and were 21-39 during Mack's time at the helm.

Mack re-joined the Blue and Gold in '10 after being with the team as their Director of Player Personnel from 1984-1987. In that span, he helped the Bombers to winning seasons in all of his four years with the club, while winning the 72nd Grey Cup in his debut season of 1984.

Mack began his NFL personnel career the following season and has been a part of five NFL playoff teams and one Superbowl winner.

This makes me happy. The Bombers can finally move forward and become competitive again.

Saskatchewan no longer perfect and are tied with the Stamps.

Calvillo injured. Bagg injured. Damn this game seems like it shouldn't have been played, 2 great guys being injured possible retirements soon from them. Montreal can't put the ball in the endzone, Jock Sanders playing terrible. Not a good game at all.

I can see Cavillo retiring after this season. Games been brutal. But what a catch by Green!

ELLIOTT!!!!!!!! I've wanted him to start since Buck got hurt (big surprise there). I'm hoping the Bombers can do what the Lions did last year.

Yes, the parity is good. Playoff contention might come down to the last week of the season :)

the lions picked up Elliot off waivers in the offseason

Riders are the worst 6-1 team ever, theyre not getting anywhere near the championship. Duarant was vintage Durant today, looking like crap. With a rookie QB playing his 1st CFL game for Montreal, the Riders should have destroyed the Als, but they almost lost. BC wins the Grey Cup this season
