Sure, all 4 of the above has Cups, but they also had Stevens, Daneyko, Niedermeyer, Lidstrom, Chara or Doughty. Luongo does not have a Cup, but he is elite, and is a Stanley Cup away from being one of the greatest goaltenders. Schneider and his technically sound ass will never be in that conversation. Some people are just naturally talented - Luongo is one. And is Schneider really that level-headed? He is being given every opportunity to take the #1 job and he's choking at even that. (I saw you post about the Leafs earlier) Toronto is on there annual spiral down the standings it seems, and it is evident once again the luck Scrivens and Riemer have been experiencing is all but gone. We need a center, and with the way Kadri has been playing (and on the third line) aswell as the way McClement has supplied some offence lately, aswell as having Grabovski, and also having Tim Connolly and Joe Colbourne in waiting who could probably contribute. Perhaps that would open up Tyler Bozak once again, which would be a huge add for us. VAN Bozak Frattin Scrivens 2nd TOR Luongo Sauve Rodin - Bozak is the perfect 3rd line center for this team. - Frattin is a young player, still developing and can already contribute on the 2nd or 3rd line. - Scrivens can be a quality backup - 2nd is nice to get in this draft year Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Trades gonna come out of nowhere and were trading Cory for a real good young centre.. None of the analysts say a word about it, all they say is gillis is working the phones like crazy but there's no market. Got a feeling the max offer for Lu is going to be mediocre and sufficient at best and there will be a Schneider deal that blows him away and he has to take it. With their history of tanking, facing a four game losing streak with exactly the same group of players, and being right on the cusp of a playoff spot, I think they'd be very wise to bring in Luongo right now. Can you get Steckel thrown in? I miss Manny's faceoff prowess and the Leafs aren't using him... I proposed something very similar before the season and before Lack got injured - Luo for Bozak, Frattin and a 2nd (got slightly flamed, but I like Frattin (and his RF- I like the addition of Scrivens with Lack injured... I also proposed Bozak, Frattin, Franson before the season, but at this point the Leafs wouldn't be able to afford to move Franson - he's been their best blueliner this year imo. Perhaps we could throw in Ballard for Franson... I think your deal is fair value - if we could swap depth centers in Ebbett and Steckel, I think it would be a good thing for both guys. I really like Ebbett - I think he'd play regularly in Toronto in the absence of Bozak - whereas here, his minutes are probably numbered once a deal is cut (and Schroeder is going to limit Ebbett's future) - Steckel could probably see fourth line Manny-role minutes here, being a big left handed faceoff specialist - with Lappy and Pinnizzotto, I'd really like the looks of the Canucks depth. My overall feeling is Jonathan Bernier will be target before Schneider does, Younger, cheaper, almost as good of stats, only 30 games less and the biggest factor. He will cost much less to acquire. Claiborne55 Posted March 15, 2013 Share Posted March 15, 2013 Yeah I agree, I think Steckel could be added for next to nothing, or nothing at this point, since really all he is useful for is faceoffs, other than that he has been a disaster this season and a healthy scratch. I agree on Franson, at the beginning of the year I was kinda interested but now I don't see him moving and I don't think we need him, Garrison has look really good on the right side. This could be are chance though, we need to jump at Bozak+ (+ being a young guy like Frattin with another future) if we get the opportunity, then we can wrap this situation up and move on into the playoffs with a more rounded line-up.
