Toronto should definetly look into a Phaneuf for Stastny+ deal. Clarkson is a natural RW who the Leafs payed top six $$$ to get him and Kadri is better as a LW. If they do move him you think they would target a center, and they already overpaid for Bozak to fill that top line spot then if they move Phaneuf to go get someone else what happens to him? I guess if they go for Stastny: Lupul - Stastny - Kessel JVR - Kadri - Clarkson Kulemin - Bozak - Bolland Solid top 9, but there defense would be even worse. Stastny is bound to leave one way or another with Duchene being locked up and Mackinnon being drafted, although he can play wing. O'Reilly might have to leave too after this holdout. TML: JVR - Stastny - Kessel Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson Bolland - Bozak - Kulemin McLaren - McClement - Orr Gunnarsson - Gardiner Liles - Franson Rielly - Holzer Fraser Yeah the defense isn't the greatest, maybe they could trade a middle-6 forward for a top-4 defenseman, although Bozak an Clarkson's contracts kind of make the unmovable. COL: Landeskog - Duchene - Mackinnon Tanguay - O'Reilly - Parenteau McGinn - Mitchell - Downie McLoed - Vincour/Olver - Bordeleau Phaneuf - Johnson Hejda - Barrie Wilson - Elliott Hunwick Definatley improved Colorado, maybe slightly helps Toronto, but COL can include picks/prospects Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
