VAN vs NYR would be an exciting matchup indeed. 20 years later, we switched coaches, both teams would match up nicely to make a great series. Hockey fans and NBC would be all over a chicago v detroit final too but in all seriousness, our roster isn't good enough to compete and make it to the finals. i doubt we even secure a top 3 spot on our conference given our new division. The winner gets to choose their new location; Seattle or Quebec. The loser doesn't stay or go, they get beaten in the street with hoses and are then driven to Florida where they will be summarily executed under the "Stand Your Ground" law. Playoff hockey would be much more intense if the teams literally played for their lives. Also no one could complain that there weren't enough changes made after losing. Each Canadian team with a playoff spot is a black hole in NBCs revenue, and the $2 billion they forked over to Bettman is more important to the owners than the integrity of the game.
