morrissex95
I remember seeing Erat in the Nashville series and thinking that he'd be perfect for the Kesler line. Obviously Booth would have to be going the other way, but I think sacrificing the grit is worth it if Gillis thinks that Martin Erat could be a good fit under John Tortorella. Alex Burrows 14
Yes. Consistent, two way player, playmaker but can snipe. Booth and a 3rd. I do it easy and so does Washington.
Derp...
They are Booth playing a little Erratic if you ask me.
BlueLemming
What is the financial benefit of Erat over Booth? If there is one. Player vs player, I think I'd keep Booth.. as crazy as that sounds.. Erat is older and has always been soft. That is only going to get worse. Erat's salary is 2.25 or something next season. That's also why they won't want Booth.
Rypien37
Erat's salary is 2.25 or something next season. That's also why they won't want Booth. Booth has a 250K lower cap hit, and both players are unwanted at this point. Booth is also younger and bigger.
Plaguez
I don't get why people want him. Is he young? No. Can he hit? No. Is he a great passer? No. Is he a top 6 forward? No. He isn't what the Canucks need and unless he is an add on to a bigger deal is a waste of any asset to aquire, including Booth. At this point at least Booth is a strong skater who can hit. If I had to pick one of them to be on my team and not score, it would be Booth.
Tom Sestito
He's a 50 point guy.. just not in washington. They fracked up bad.

DeNiro
I bet he would actually surprise alot of people. Kind of like how Samuelsson did. I'd be willing to give him a shot. Honestly, can it really be any worse than with Booth?

I doubt Booth for Erat is going to be straight up, if it happens at all, but it's in the teams best interest to acquire a player like this right now. If they can somehow take Booth it will be a homerun and will be around 2mill less for next season, even for a buyout.

Standing_Tall#37
He's a 50 point guy.. just not in washington. They fracked up bad. So is Booth....just not in Vancouver. We fracked up worse.
winthecup
So is Booth....just not in Vancouver. We fracked up worse. but the Canucks only gave up an aging Samuelsson and a washed up Marco Sturm for Booth while the Capitals gave up a top prospect to get Erat. Stizz19
So is Booth....just not in Vancouver. We fracked up worse. By Booth getting constantly injured somehow the Canucks "fracked up"? Fail...
King Heffy
So is Booth....just not in Vancouver. We fracked up worse. They gave up much, much more. We traded another guy who can't stay healthy along with a guy who was basically a $2 million version of Andrew Ebbett. They gave up a promising young prospect. RunningWild
Of course this management team has interest in Erat. *Sigh* $4.5M cap hit for next 2 seasons. This player: is 32 years old. He hasn't scored a goal yet this season. Hasn't played and 82 game season since....ever. Has underlying #'s that scream 'regression started 2 years ago'. Negative possession player. Asks for trade out of Nashville. Then asks for trade out of Washington. Not a sniper. Not a strong defensive player. Of course this management team would give up assets to acquire such a player. At this point, I'd expect nothing less.

He's just trying to find something to bitch about. Booth got hit with horrible luck and injuries. Now people blame Gillis for it and Booth's faith.. That would have been like giving up Shinkaruk for Booth if anything @ that guy.
Dragonfruits
for people saying oh but Booth was a 50 point player well he got 60 points 1 time and 40 points 2 times then you got Erat who scored 50 plus points 5 times 49 points 3 times so almost 8 seasons of 50 points Erat 164G 326A 490P Booth 105G 97A 202P Big Difference in Numbers
