Too Early to call Kassian a dissapointment?

I'd like to see him get top six minutes consistently, even if he doesn't deserve it. Let him sink or swim then we'll really know what we have here.

Why would you give him something he does not deserve. That is not fair to the players who would like the same opportunities he has not cashed in on. How many passes will Torts give him? I am thinking he is exhausting his chances with the team. Maybe this scratch will send a message to him. Will he be smart enough to comprehend what that message is trying to tell him?

Most players put on the Sedin line over the years didn;t earn it. It was a coach chucking someone on the line and hoping chemestry would happen. Those that stuck (earned it) by playing well on the line. Kinda like Carter.

This is a sports team, not the post office. Glass ceilings kill teams far more then keeping a player down because it might make a vet cry.

No. It's just early enough.

Kassian up until now has only shown flashes if even touching hodgsons skill level - big man or not. He's a disappointment until he proves us wrong from here on out. Any other player and he woulda been written off as another bust 4th line signing... But he was traded for a guy playing on a top line now. We lost this trade HARD until/unless kassian proves he's more than a big bottom 6 winger

Lol. Or they could done this with Coho, a player that actually deserved it, and avoided this whole mess altogether. We'll all look back at Hodgson and Schneider, two outstanding players, and think man all we got for them was two bottom six players at best.

The only argument against a bad trade is time. Oh give it some time, its too early, only time well tell, it takes longer for this type of player, etc. Horrible trades.

Bo Horvat is going to be a HoFer

Could not be more complete of a player and is 210 at the age of 18

Speed

Sniping

IQ

Faceoffs

Passing

Puck Battles

kid is literally the next best thing since Kesler, except 25 lbs heavier

Why did CoHo deserve it? If you hate how kass plays in his own end I have some bad news for you.

And wait, are you writing off Bo already as a bottom six?

"Way too early. PWF's need time, history has shown that, get that through your head ffs."

- Gee; too bad MG didn't know that a couple of years ago... when he traded for this lazy, undisciplined, out of shape, unmotivated superstar in the making... as he could be had now for a cup of coffee.

That's right. Everyone says a power-forward needs time to develop (except GMMG of course).

CoHo gets a substantial raise in pay and Kass get's benched with people saying that he should put more time in Utica.

He may have 25 pounds on Kes, if you handed him, well...a 25 pound weight... Kes is taller, faster, and proven. What good is having the next Kes, when we already have the real deal guaranteed and we abandon him in hopes of a prospect becoming as good. Kes has the twins, Lu and a stacked D-core, still needs more help. Good luck expecting Bo Horvat to do half as well when the core is gone.

I think our scouts might be to blame again. They must've been gushing about him to MG before the trade. Although ultimately it was MG who decided to trade Coho for this guy.

This could be a Stojanov for Naslund type trade in terms of lopsidedness, except we won't be on the better end.

I stopped watching till the playoffs that season and it was a wise choice since the team sucked after that trade and struggled to create offense. Booth and Cody were the reason we did well that year, they provided lots of depth goals for us and Booth was injured/snake bitten.

Kes is not a 40 goal scorer he is 20 goal scorer at max without the sedins on the power play. November proved that.

The trade is looking worse and worse as time wears on...

Kassian has some flashes of good play, but far too inconsistent and can't put it all together to show that he deserves anything more than 3rd or 4th line ice time.

Hodgson will always be the better player. Enough said.

And this is not a grade five class in which a student gets as many chances he needs to get through the year. When does a coach get to make a decision on a player? When those who favor that player say so or when the coach says enough is enough. The old saying is crap or get off the pot and that is what Torts is saying to Kassian. That was my point. In essence Kassian is taking a roster spot over someone else be it a vet or rookie.

Didn't really mention anything about his goals, but no way he scores in the low 20's, it took him playing through some serious injuries to drop to that level. I bet he cracks 30 this year, and everyone mutually benefits from the PP, he makes it better and the goals all count the same. Point is his output is a high projection among any of our prospects and management should focus on helping him rather than letting him and the rest of the core slowly decline.

Have some ???? patience with Kassian imo. We have no choice, but we continue to put pressure on him by calling him the next bertuzzi, saying he's got first line potential, and the media always scrutinizing the Hodgson trade... and not to mention the fans always going on about Hodgson. You guys really don't think he hears/sees all this?

I really do think a stint in Utica is needed, or just scratch him another few/making him sit in the video room etc. He really does need to revisit the basics. He has the size, the skating, the feistyness, the offensive potential. Last year Kreider looked like he'd max out as a 3rd/4th liner. Now look at him.

patience is key. This fanbase has the highest amount of impatient crybabies. I always read the smaller market team boards on HF and you see some realistic understanding/expectations of the team and its players.
