Cold Hard Truth
I'd like to see him get top six minutes consistently, even if he doesn't deserve it. Let him sink or swim then we'll really know what we have here. i agree, give the kid 10 games with the Twins and make it or break it.
Drakrami
That's an unfair argument. How many of those players are PWFs? So being named a power forward gets you a free pass? What's so special about powerforwards? They are still forwards that shoots and passes the puck. Is there a hidden rule about powerforward where they have to hold back their power when they are young? nuck nit
Half the team was injured when we made that trade, kes and bieksa were still nursing finals injuries. Half the team was not injured but Kesler had multiple injury issues which made the trade even more ludicrous. June 15,2011 Game 7 SCF Feb 27,2012 -the trade

Ugli Fruit
I am glad we got Zack . Hodgson was a headache and didnt want to play 3rd line minutes here. /end thread Hodgson would help this team out so much right now. I don't dislike Kassian but so far the Sabres have EASILY won his trade, and it seems they will be the final winner.

Patrick Kane
I was extremely upset with Hodgson/Schneider being moved, and keeping Edler/Booth... Imagine if... 1. Kept Hodgson 2. Traded Luongo for ANYTHING (Matthias+Weaver?!?) 3. Traded Edler for Voracek or any high end top 6 forward 4. Used Booth's money towards a top 6 (MacArthur/Ryder) Sedin - Sedin - Burrows (LEGIT TOP LINE) Ryder - Hodgson - Voracek (LEGIT 2ND LINE) Higgins - Kesler - Hansen (LEGIT SHUTDOWN LINE) Matthias - Santorelli - Weise (LEGIT 4TH LINE) Garrison - Weaver (LEGIT SHUTDOWN PAIRING) Hamhuis - Tanev (GREAT TWO-WAY PAIRING) Stanton - Bieksa (LEGIT BOTTOM PAIRING) Schneider (LEGIT #1 STARTER) Lack (NICE BACK-UP)

Herberts Vasiljevs
It's definitely a project, yet one with potential. Glad we have a coach like Torts to work on this, as opposed to AV sabotaging an aspiring youth movement. So we might need to deal a few vets & get younger? Boo-freeken-hoo! Glad we didn't keep Bo & Hunter up, if we need to re-tool. Save their ELC for when the team KNOWS their intended course. Now if we do make many changes & get rather young, we'll need some nasty muscle, which might be a role Kassian will have to adopt(fully). It doesn't help to thrust these Bert/Lucic fantasies upon this guy-every team wants some of that(top PWF), but it's rare to find. Stay positive, & ensure he can develop into his necessary role, WITH an emerging set of young players. He might even develop special chemistry with players who haven't yet arrived. PRESSURE with vets; patience with youth. This is 100% how I feel about this.
LeanBeef
Kreider... hat-trick.../16points age:22 Chiasson 7goals/14points age:23 Nichushkin 9points age:18 Kassian 6points age:22 VERYFAIR Kreider plays with Nash Chiasson plays with Benn and Seguin at times, rarely if ever plays with the bottom 6. Nichushkin does play third line mins at times but got most of his points with Seguin. Kassian gets to play with Sestito, Richardson, and if he's lucky; santorelli or Higgins. Plus there are far more players his age not working out for their teams.

Kassian is not being played to his potential and 3rd/4th line minutes are only going to hold him back if he is not playing with young learning guys like himself. To much upside and sending him to the Comets is not a bad idea at all

Weise has stepped up, Santo and Higgins are very adequate line mates. Defensively sound, good skaters and create a lot of chances. Playing with them is only an excuse for not scoring ppg numbers, but it isn't when he scores absolutely nothing. Ice time has to be earned, if he did everything else but score, he may get some looks ala Burrows and Higgy, but he doesn't. He can't even lay a body check.
