Why is sportsnet calling the magic number 6? Do they not realize we have the tie break on the yanks?

Because it doesn't matter. Blue jays have to finish one ahead of the Yankees to win a division. If they have the same record, they play one game to determine who wins division. Only thing having the tie breaker means is having home field for that game

It's David Price against Chris Archer in today's game in what should be a pitcher's duel. The key for the Jays is to lay off Archer's slider and swing at the fastball. If Archer can throw the slider for strikes, it's going to be a tough day for the Jay's hitters.

Price needs to be his dominant self and hopefully Archer will make a few mistakes...

In the other important AL East game, John Danks take the mound for the White Sox against the Yankees. Danks isn't having a great season, (7-13, 4.59 ERA) but he's a lefty which is always a plus at Yankee stadium and he's up against Adam Warren, who is making just his third big league start, filling in for Nathan Eovaldi.

KC vs Cleveland looks to be a toss up. Neither team has their ace starting, but both Kris Medlen and Josh Tomlin have been pitching well this season and are both coming off good starts in their last outing.

The more I look at the AL standings, the more I want Toronto to catch the Royals for that top spot in the AL. The Wild Card race is a dogfight, with NYY, Houston, Anaheim, Minny, Cleveland and Baltimore all having a legitimate shot at making the post season.

I'd expect that such a crowded situation will go right down to the wire, which means that whichever team emerges from that 1 game playoff will likely have burned their top starter, if not their top two. It worked out well for the Royals last year, but logic dictates that you'd prefer to be sitting at home, waiting for the team that comes out of that emotional, mini playoff.
