Mrock60
Woohoo! Let the changes begin. Booth was a waste of cap space and never really fit in. We're in good hands in JB and Linden. Expect a cup in 2-3 years Canuck fans. I guarantee it!
aGENT
Luongo, MG, JT, Booth, Ballard... It's pretty Canuck-centric Because no other teams do the exact same thing...? Maybe if you only swim around in the Vancouver fish bowl
Speed or Size
With a Kesler deal + maybe Higgins or Hansen we have 5+4.5+2.5+11mil we alrdy have in cap space = 22 million in cap space = 8th in highest cap space in NHL Good move Benning.
LM11
Can someone tell me how much of Booth's salary will count towards the cap, if any?
higgyfan
Really too bad things didn't work out for DB here in Van. Hope he finds a good fit on another team. Looks like JBTL are clearing cap space so they have a few options (trades, UFAs). Keep moving forward, boys!
TimberWolf
As long as the cap relief is used for something good, otherwise I am not sure this was necessary.

ShakyWalton
Wedding present from the Canucks?! I wish I got a 4.25 million dollar wedding present..Im not quite sure how these buyouts work...now Booth can sign with another team for say 1.5 mill? He could actually make more this year than last? CanucksSayEh
If we don't actually use the money on something better, ill be pretty choked. Wanted him to finish out his last year here.
Apples
Good, he never worked out, hopefully someone picks him up
Canada Hockey Place
Probably a tough call but can't really question this move. It's a move forward. Didn't Grabovski get married the week before he was bought-out too? Imagine if they sign Grabovski.. That'd be kind of ironic.
spur1
Most important thing in this buy out is opening up a spot for youngster or a player coming back in the Kesler deal.
hockeyville88
Thank goodness. What a waste.
CroSen
Interesting move on the Canucks part. I thought Booth would last the year too, however JB may have something brewing. New coach, new draft picks, new management team. Exciting time to be a Canucks fan right now. I wonder what they are going to do about the second line now, especially with no Kesler and no Booth. JB will have his work cut for him.
Guest
Good. That $4 million will be much better spent on RFAs and UFAs
Down by the River
Thank goodness. What a waste. Only Burrows and Santo were on for fewer 5v5 goals against (for players playing at least 500 minutes). The Canucks out-possess and out-shoot their opponent when Booth is on the ice. Booth and Kassian started clicking towards the end of the year. He's an overpaid 3rd/4th liner no doubt, but to call him a waste is simply inaccurate.
Heretic
Surprised this didn't happen last year.
