dalredane
Wish he played a little meaner with his size, but his wingspan, grit, and 10 pts. in last 18 games....this could be the start of something good. Thoughts?
YEGCanuck
Totally agree with you. This kid is motivated and is a tough competitor. He uses his speed to an advantage and goes into the gritty areas to fight for puck possession. For a third liner who can also play centre he is certainly earning his salary. Why people think we ought to trade the guy doesn't make sense.
Erik Karlsson
Him and Kassian are going to be key in the playoffs. Hopefully Kassian can up his game like Matthias has.
Maniwaki Canuck
Definitely discovering his game, and giving a whole other dimension to the team. Key player these days.

Lychees
I love how the early season "cast-offs" have been stepping it up big time in recent games Hansen, Richardson, Matthias, Sbisa
Where's Wellwood
Just wait till he goes on a cold streak. Then we'll have reactionary threads the other way.
StevoCanuck
Now his production right now is why what we need after giving up luongo for him. Not just him but look at our 3rd line and the rest of our team! Our team is so consistent and so well balanced this year!
sinphase
Hopefully he can stay hot. 40 or 50 point season for him? He's this season's Santorelli!
apollo
I know kassian was supposed to be our Bertuzzi... But ummm... Matthias just reminds me of Bert. I know there's differences between the two players game but I'm talking about presence on the ice and his ability as of late to finish. Love it! Once Kass is healthy that 3rd line will be even more of a force. Welcome to the Vancouver Canucks show.
DownUndaCanuck
Had a very slow start but I'm glad we didn't fire the trigger and trade him. Should definately keep him until at least the end of the season. Matthias and Richardson may have their contracts ending this year and may be replaceable (with Horvat and Gaunce), but we should try to keep hold of one of them, particularly the younger, bigger Matthias. His size and speed forechecking has caused these smaller Eastern defencemen havoc in the last couple of games and having him on a 3rd line will break playoff games wide open. springer
I'm going to make a comparison here, probably generate a few scoffs, but... Reminds me of Bertuzzi. And I think he has the stuff to be that good.
BoKnows53
Gillis got us Richardson and Matthias for nothing. Just shows you he was still a good G.M. A couple mistakes that TSN and the media ran with to make him a villain.
