Canorth
CDC prior to playoffs: We love you Jim! You're the reason we got into the playoffs again! CDC now that the Canucks are down 3-1 to the Flames: Benning is a joke! Man I hate that guy! Why'd we ever hire this loser?! There are 86,144 members on CDC. Thanks for the summary. baumerman77
Benning also doesn't sound like he believes in the team when he says "we're picking 23rd".
Where's Wellwood
The more I hear Benning the less I like him. Why? Because he's not belittling the team publicly hours before puck drop? How dare he not!
theminister
He's right. We clearly outplayed them in the 1st last game but lulled in the 2nd to only pick it up in the 3rd. We just need to play that 1st for 60.
oldnews
Absolutely love the Baerstchi subtext. This is going to be one hell of an interesting game.
TOMapleLaughs
Ooooh! Let's do a poll! Can we? Can we???If you poll right after the regular season ends and compare that to a poll taken right after the playoffs end, the results will be wildly different, obviously. That being said, a lot went into the regular season we just had, and not just JB's efforts. Nor is he to blame for an early playoff exit, if it happens. So it really is moot what's being discussed here.

yes we can nucks
Absolutely love the Baerstchi subtext. This is going to be one hell of an interesting game. The Flames fans are probably laughing at us, putting in one of their 'rejects' in hopes of sparking our team. I would love for him to light it up and shove it up their..... nose! alfstonker
I understand he can't throw them under the bus, but to say they're competing is Sedin/Bieksa 'esque. That's the problem. They're NOT competing!!! Don't tell us they are. That's the number one problem! They are competing. Open your eyes.
oldnews
Can anyone summarize? My internet is too slow on this god forsaken rig in this god forsaken place http://www.tsn.ca/radio/vancouver-1040-i-1410/benning-canucks-can-shift-playoff-momentum-1.265108 Team has competed hard all year. Will come out hard tonight and take it shift by shift, period by period. Knows the guys are focused. Vrbata is important to the team in generating scoring chances - need to generate more shots for him. Baertschi can help create opportunities for Vrbata. They knew what they were dealing with in facing Calgary. Desjardins is taking criticism - but the team has been a four line team all year. WD has done a great job and will make adjustments as he sees fit. That's how they're built and they're not going to change who they are. Calgary is also a four line team. Need MIller to be sharp and bring confidence. JB, TL and WD discuss the games, but at the end of the day WD is the coach and the strategic decisions are his. The way you recover in a situation like this is to get back to the good habits you've developed all year. The Flames finished strong last year and carried it through this year with youthful energy. Sven will bring speed, an element that can help the 2nd line - give them rush opportunities. Alot of good teams in the division and conference that did not make the playoffs will pick in the top half of the draft - will all get good players - wanted to see the top talent in Europe to make the most of his pick. Was up 3-0 with Boston in 2010 against Philly. Momentum is a funny thing and can change on any given night. If they play right, they can shift momentum. awalk
What was anyone expecting? JB to come out bashing the team? Let's support! Go Canucks Go!!!
awalk
Is everyone mad that he is just calmly and rationally giving comments on where the team is at right now and what they need to do? They have experience and they should come out and compete tonight. He's expecting it.
Gaudette Celly
The Flames fans are probably laughing at us, putting in one of their 'rejects' in hopes of sparking our team. falcon45ca
On the plus side, Benning does sounds rested and rejuvenated after his Swiss vacation. Lets hope he can get back to work and help the Canucks. Pretty sure he's been working hard scouting players over there...hardly a vacation.
