Crackers
This whole doesn't make sense. They are all different ages, so you should specify how this works a little bit more. Are we drafting them at their current ages, in which case, who would draft anyone before 2000, as they are all so old at this point. Are we drafting them at the age they were during their draft year. If so, why hasn't Connor McDavid or Alex Daigle been picked yet? Also, Bias from knowing which player will become what in their career will influence our choices. Are we drafting them as they were during their prime? Some players on this list haven't played a game in the NHL. This is nonsensical no matter which way you do this, and therefore, it's a pretty pointless idea.

Ghostsof1915
Ekblad. 5th on the team in scoring (And he's a D-man!) Best +/- on the team at +12 39 points for a rookie season. 109 Hits 4 GWG 170 shots When you get a D-man this good, in his first season at 18 then 19. Usually D-men take a while to develop. Great start to this kids career. I think he's going to be an amazing talent!

MusclePharm
If we are basing it off of potential for Mcdavid then I would choose him since he has the potential to be as good if not better than Crosby.
Langdon Algur
Easy one for me, Stamkos for sure and not just because of how dominate he is this playoffs more because of his two Rocket trophies and multiple 100+ point seasons.
Psycho_Path
Ya I'm not sure how you can pick a guy like Modano over McDavid. I'd definitely go with McDavid. Barring injury, he will be one of the top point producers to play the game in this era, if not the top - even on a team like Edmonton

Picking McDavid over Modano is beyond stupid because he could be Daigle. Whereas we know what Modano can and what he did do.
Psycho_Path
If you've watched McDavid play, you'd know he won't become a Daigle
TOMapleLaughs
If you've watched McDavid play, you'd know he won't become a DaigleYeah, but even Daigle should not have become a Daigle. These things are hard to predict, while we know what Modano did. Modano was pretty good.
asian player
If we're picking them based on what they are as a prospect, then McDavid, Daigle should be gone very early. If we're judging them on accomplishments like what we did with Modano, Sundown, etc. then McDavid should be last Anyways, I went with McDavid
DrJockitch
It is hard to forget how bad of a failure Daigle was but even then he wasn't regarded as the best prospect of that year. He was a bit of a reach. McDavid is probably the biggest hyped prospect since Crosby and Lindros. As far as pure pre-draft rankings he probably should have been in the top three. Stamkos who is currently winning this poll didn't have half the hype of McDavid or even Eichel for that matter. Very well regarded but nothing like where McDavid is ranked. I think if you looked at pure pre-draft rankings and hype it is probably actually Lindros, McDavid, Crosby. Though you could easily flip Lindros to third on the list after the interview especially when his dad tried to run the whole thing.
