PhillipBlunt
Vrbata is the soft European perimeter player that people have woefully mistaken the Sedins for. There is a reason they don't want him on their line.
Mathew Barzal
This might sound really far fetched but I think part of the reason he's suffering so badly this year is because the Sedin's hate playing with him. They literally shun him off their line by sucking whenever he's on it.
Todd Bersnoozi
Yeah, not sure what's up with Verby this year. Last season, he was probably the best free agent signing in the league; he was clutch and showed so much poise and swagger with the puck. This season, he's invisible most nites and seems to sulk a bit cuz he's not playing with the Sedins. Also, you would think he'd be hungry to produce heading into a contract year. As for the line of Bearcheese, BoHo and him, surprisingly he has been the least impressive forward of the 3 as of late. When we orginally signed him, I thot we overpaid and that we were basically getting a Jan Bulis, Martin Rucinsky, Jan Hlavac type forward. He impressed me last season and I thot he was much more, now he's looking like the player I orignally thot we were getting. Anywho, I agree with most. I won't mind trading him for whatever by the TDD.
Green Goblin
Hopefully he starts playing better so that we can trade him for a nice return.

Trades Prust for half bag of pucks. Hamhuis for 4-5 th rounder Vrbata for 2 nd or 3rd rounder Basically we are giving these 3 away. I still agree as it will be addition by subtraction. We have better players ( long term ) than these 3 right now in Utica with Gaunce, Shinkaruk and Pedan that would benefit now with NHL experience. Adamth
im so sick of Canucks losing comfortably every night. you dont WIN Stanley cups by making the same mistakes again. yOU WIN BY LEARNING FROM THEM AND BREAKING OLD/ BAD HABITS - so yeah i see where ur going w Verbata here. But i blame therest of the team- like Calgarys coach said: good effort is meaningless if u cant win your games.

RaymondT
Simply, he's not motivated. Too much roster change, little chance of success, and changing line mates. Not unusual for a European to tail off when the team isn't meeting his expectations. Just a paycheck now.

Vrbata's compete level is just not there every night and that is something that not recorded on the stat sheet.

So you're saying that not all players are equal when it comes to whether they are having a bad year? In other words, you and others in this thread are biased. Let me put it another way, Vrbata is paid $3,700,000 less = 57%. Crosby on pace for 71 pts? So 57% of that = 40. But Vrbata is on pace for 38. Basically, bang for buck, about the same.
