[Speculation] Hawks interested in Hamhuis and Vrbata

Hamhuis = 1st + prospect - minimum

Vrbata = 2nd + prospect - minimum

Bickel = 2nd

Yea can say that is overpriced but it's not. That 1st round pick is likely 29-30. The second round pick is likely 59-60. Those are not great picks in those rounds. basically you can call the 1st a 2nd and the 2nd a 3rd. I think it really comes down to who the prospects in play are.

This is a chicago team last year that gave up a 2nd and 4th for a 40 year old Timonen and we all know about Vermette.

If Hammer and Vrbata don't dress tonight we have the answer. Seen deals like this in the past where the buyer is playing two teams against one another then opt for the other team. I'm hoping that Benning is playing Dallas off against the Hawks.

Dallas, LA etc....

Vrbata isn't dressing for sure.

/ Edit: Also keeping Hammer out last minute could also be a subtle message to competitors. "Up it now or you miss out."

Think about it as two different trades

Pokka + a late 1st in 2016 for Hamhuis 50% retained

 2nd 2017 + Bickell for Vrbata 50% retained

It's gotta be in that range.

I'd take that and run.  Buyout Bickell if needed.  How many years left on his term tho?  maybe not if its more then 2 years.

I'd rather Vrbata trade him elsewhere for a 2nd.  Or if the hammer part has to involve vrbata make it a 3rd find a way for chi to keep bickell.

Supposedly Vrbata was going to skate in the last practice and they held him back. His injury cannot be much.

Here's the thing for a team like Dallas the last thing they want is for Hamhuis to go to Chicago. That virtually ends any chance of them getting past chicago in the playoffs.

Hopefully Nill panics and gives up Nichushkin!

The guy we should have drafted instead of Horvat, right?

:bigblush:
