late hit and then dive by Chabot. If he was on team russia they crucify him. This is why i never cheer for team canada. They are just cocky as anyone and dont play 'classic hockey' no matter how hard TSN tries to shove that down your throat.

This isn't even worth a minus.

These Tampa picks are are damned impressive. How does Stevie Y find em so late?

Every single one of the players playing for them in the WJ are Canadian.

Tampa Bay Lightning (5)

  • G Connor Ingram – Canada – 2016 third round pick (88th)
  • F Anthony Cirelli – Canada – 2015 third round pick (72nd)
  • F Mathieu Joseph – Canada – 2015 fourth round pick (120th)
  • F Taylor Raddysh – Canada – 2016 second round pick (58th)
  • F Mitchell Stephens – Canada – 2015 second round pick (33rd)

I'm not a big nationalist, but there's something to that.

All the forward draftees for Lightning have been excellent for Canada. I think they should be happy with their drafting in the past two years.

Did you expect objectivity from TSN when they are catering to a Canadian audience? If you listened to a Swedish, Russian or Finnish broadcast they would do the exact same thing.

I expect them not to be hypocritical and criticize European teams that do the same things as Canada.

It tells me that when it comes to the rounds after the second, and it gets more iffy if they will even make it to the NHL, Stevie Y will pick a Canadian over any other nationality. Canadian kids just have that extra motivation and pride and sense of history which tips the balance. Canucks GMs have had a history of almost going out of their way to pick Euros over Canucks. Virtanen was an exception.
