lol

because the road to the NHL runs through the WJC.

m.k.

And I wrote that after someone mentioned late round picks playing in the world juniors working out for Tampa this year, out of all posts you could have taken out of context to drop a one liner on I'm sure you could have done better

Enjoy the game bud

Name one player in the top 10 that didn't play in the WJC. Better yet name one NHL captain that didn't play in the world juniors. I'll wait.

Mmmmmmk

not sure if serious but there are probably more than you realize....

Slater Koekkoek 2012

Sean Monahan 2013

Michael Dal Colle 2014

Some players simply skip the WJC thing and are straight in the NHL, others didn't necessarily make their teams.

But regardless, this has very little to do with the fact that playing in the WJC is nothing like a ticket to the NHL.

One of the tournament's all time leading scorers was a Canucks pick - Jordan Schroeder -  who has done little in the NHL.

Cody Hodgson = likewise.

Logan Couture notoriously never got picked for anything Hockey Canada until last fall's World Cup.

Monahan went straight to the NHL after the draft and played the whole year in Calgary on their second line. Just sayin..,
