I’m really impressed that Morgan Geekie has won over the 1st line center job for the Charlotte checkers. Kinda crazy for a rookie to be in that position for a top AHL a team. Also playing ahead of Necas too! 4 goals in 4 games so far in the playoffs (which doesn’t mean much in the first round as a 1st seed).

I suspect he’ll get some games next year in the NHL.

Thanks @Canuck Surfer for the round, without my goalies I'm toast.

That being said, my all star round 2 line up!

Noel Acciari - Alex Kerfoot

Esa Lindell

Jordan Binnington

Philip Grubauer

Scratches

Thomas Hickey

Denis Gurianov

Pardon my manners!

Congratulations Inane.

Not cheering for you this year. Usually I cheer for who beats me.

@Master Mind in an upset this year?

Apologies to everyone who's sent in offers over the past month - I've just finished finals, so I'll look to have responses back to everyone by the end of next weekend.

No excuses, Jazz! :P

Can't believe I won / winning again. What a crazy world we live in.

That was a historic 1st round. The 1st seed in the West and the East have never both been out that quick. All comparables are out the window.

I don't expect to win the 2nd round (especially with my goalies playing on the same night now). But I basically lost a whole team:

Victor Arvidsson - Mark Scheifele - Phil Kessel

Brandon Tanev - Nazem Kadri - Craig Smith

William Carrier - Patrick Marleau - Michael Frolik

Mathieu Joseph - Travis Boyd - Zac Rinaldo

Victor Hedman - Matt Niskanen

Brian Dumoulin - Anton Stralman

Jordie Benn - Dan Girardi

Travis Dermott, Christian Djoos

I think Carolina got hit pretty hard as well. They invested into all top teams and then all the top teams got clapped.

It's trades like these - where 1 team is trying to get a "better playoff player", and giving up a guy they think will either miss or is 1st round fodder - that hurt:

To FLA: Kerfoot

To DAL: Gudbranson

To CBJ: Robert Bortuzzo

To SJS: Ian Cole

To Ana: Brett Seney, Julius Honka, David Perron, 2020 Ana 2nd, Riley Sutter

To Van: Paul Stastny (2.55M retained in 2018/19 & 2019/20), Mathieu Perrault

To CHI: Jacob Trouba, Derick Brassard, Daniel Brickley, 2020 CBJ 2nd

To CBJ: Craig Smith, Brandon Tanev, Mathieu Joseph

To CBJ: Martin Jones (50% retained for 2018/19)

To FLA: Philipp Grubauer, Mattias Janmark, Drake Batherson, Denis Gurianov, 2019 CBJ 5th

(certainly didn't expect Grubauer to go as far, perhaps farther)

To ARZ: Pekka Rinne

To DAL: Petr Mrazek, Rasmus Andersson, Oscar Fantenberg, 2020 ARZ 2nd Round Pick

And of course, the mother of all...

To CAR: Patrik Laine, P.K. Subban, Yanni Gourde, Brendan Lemieux, Marc-Andre Fleury, Mikhail Sergachev, Reilly Smith, Josh Anderson, Jakub Vrana, J.C. Lipon

To NYI: Connor McDavid, Philippe Myers, Cooper Marody, Oskar Lindblom, David Quenneville, Samuel Morin, Daniel O'Regan, Jan Ruutta, Andrew Nielsen, CAR 2020 1st, WSH 2019 3rd

To WSH: Tyler Seguin, Vincent Trocheck, Valeri Nichushkin, Alan Quine, Martin Frk, NYI 2019 3rd, CAR 2019 2nd**

*Islanders retain 50% for 2018-19 season on Laine, Subban, Gourde, Lemieux, Fleury*

*Washington retains 50% for 2018-19 season on Sergachev, Smith, Anderson, Vrana*

*Future considerations: If Carolina is still in possession of their 2019 1st at the conclusion of the regular season, Washington will receive said 1st in return for Carolina's 2019 2nd

Crazy that Carolina gave up all of that - including 2nd round player Tyler Seguin - and only still has Josh Anderson.

Bidding could start at a 2knd & conditional 3rd? I suspect he will command more here in Puck.

For a non-playoff D-man???

(Says the guy with no Hurricanes, Islanders, or Avalanche players.)

I have a slightly used Joe Pavelski

I already placed a bet that SJ would not be as good next year? When I traded Evander Kane.

Of course I also lost a similar bet trading Avalanche players for Rangers two years ago.

Good luck to all teams battling in the Play-offs! Especially I wish the best to former Shark Jason Spezza who is currently scoring for @Master Mind´s team.

Happy to have some support, it's been paying off so far!

My Canes have been great. Need them to lose a couple games though, need them in the lineup for as long as possible. Spezza too has had a solid series. He and Thornton showing they still got it despite their age.

Them finishing the Isles in 4 may be my shot to get back in the series. Because as it's going now, it's not looking good.

If they do, I just hope it'll be an uncharacteristic 8-7 game.

Would also help if Joel playoff stud Edmondson was playing. Not sure how you convinced Berube to play that plug Bortuzzo over him, or even Gunnarsson for that matter.
